“You realize that day is nothing more than a conspiracy right? Or are you that brainwashed.” The smirk is clearly evident on her face as Jennifer’s words carry on. The younger hybrid is still listening but now she’s reevaluating the girl. Originally she had been excited to meet another person who had s i g n i f i c a n c e to Nahuel’s life. There was also pity towards his sisters. It’s still there especially with his favorite sister. Maybe there was more to the story but Renesmee believed Nahuel. She’d always take his side. She wasn’t going to be passive though. “At least I have a FAMILY. Your father keeps you around like collectibles. ‘Huel is able to see it at least. Maybe that’s why he’s keen on being around the closest thing he could get to normalcy. He loves you and your sisters, he’d just rather not be around a m o n s t e r of a father.”

“Shut up.” She hisses as Renesmee’s words hit her, twisting at her insides. Collectibles. Not a real family. She’d never know normal, not like the young redhead in front of her. All she knew was normal, all she knew was love. It wasn’t her fault, but Jennifer still couldn’t help the feeling of contempt bitterness toward her for it. “I said SHUT UP!” She snaps, not even realising her hand is flying for the Cullen’s throat before it is, slamming Renesmee against the wall. She’d never had much control of her anger, no one had really taught her how. She supposed she’d inherited it from her father. She glares daggers into the brown eyes of the other hybrid, only snapped from her bout of anger by the tear streaming down her cheek, betraying her TRUE feelings; bitterness, jealousy, PAIN. After a moment she lets go of Renesmee, curling her shaking hand into a fist at her side to keep it together. She never meant to snap like that and, truthfully, she feels GUILTY. Wiping the tear from her cheek, Jennifer tries her best to compose herself before murmuring softly, a broken voice “Just take good care of him, alright.” 

    “That’s MY fault? You can’t truly be blind enough to think that barrier wasn’t there before he heard of another hybrid. Nonetheless   you’re exaggerating it. The true distant is towards your f a t h e r,  not you. You’re pushing HIM away just as much, that isn’t on me.”

She knew Renesmee was right. Nahuel had been PUSHING against their family decades before Jen was even born, according to Maysun, but Jen HATED admitting fault, hated being forced to look at their father for what he was. He’d gotten in her head too much, him and her sisters had been there for her more than Nahuel. It was the way she knew. “I get it, you think your family is SO much better than ours just because your parents got some fairytale ending, right? Better have fun with your Brady Bunch little life while you still can, cause there’ll be a war one day and as long as you remain human sympathisers, you’re on the LOSING side.” She hisses.

“Did you know she was a scientist? She would have been, anyway.” Jennifer murmurs, her eyes too tired to let anymore tears fall. She’d done most of it back in Cleveland. She knew Serena had stayed with her mother on their father’s orders when she was pregnant with Jennifer, but upon asking her eldest sister she’d only gotten the response ‘she was a nobody’. Jennifer’s research had disproved that. “I-I met my grandparents...told them I was the daughter of a friend of hers. They still think she’s just missing, Mays...They let me into their home not knowing I...I was the one to kill their daughter....” Just when she thought she was out of tears, they begin to fall again. She knows her father would scold her for ever having feelings of GUILT like this, but she cannot help it.
