lo reconfortante que resultó no solo su discurso, sino el gesto que lo acompañó, la envolvió como un pañuelo y la transportó a un lugar seguro. ambas sabían muy bien que de esos no habían tenido muchos a lo largo de sus vidas, así que correspondió el abrazo como quién estaba en sus cinco sentidos e incluso, empleó más fuerza de la usual. “te adoro,” soltó plena unión, únicamente siendo capaz de abandonar el ensueño a causa de la palabra responsable. “oh,” no la liberó del agarre de inmediato, principalmente porque enfrentarla resultaba un tanto difícil aún. “sobre eso… yo no… no fue con un —” tragó saliva e inhaló. lo más rescatable de sus siguientes palabras era la receptora de éstas. “no estoy segura de que me gusten los chicos, harper.”

el abrazo le corto ligeramente la respiración aunque no le dio mucha importancia pues le importaba más el momento que estaba compartiendo con la menor. “y yo te adoro a ti” murmuró, frotando con suavidad su espalda. sabía que la contraria no se abría con muchas personas, o muy a menudo, por lo que le alegraba que le estuviera contando aquellos. “oh, ya veo. pensaba que había sido ese chico con el que fuiste al baile” comentó con una sonrisa, poniendo un brazo de separación entre ambas para poder mirarla a los ojos “pero está bien, ava. siempre y cuando seas feliz no importa a quien decidas amar. ” le aseguró, reiterando su discurso anterior, podía imaginar que no le había sido fácil a su hermana el articular aquellas palabras. “aún así el que te inclines por chicas no quiere decir que no tengas que ser responsable, ¿lo entiendes?”

una hilera de sensaciones recorrió su espina dorsal: desde la sorpresa al escucharse, hasta la nostalgia y por fin la aceptación. “¿estás enojada conmigo? ¿o decepcionada?” fue lo único que logró vocalizar, entre entonada y maravillada con la idea de estárselo contando a una de las tres personas más importantes en su vida. en ese mismo instante, se sintió más joven que nunca.

“oh ava. no, claro que no ” se apresuró a responder apenas aquellos vocablos hubieron abandonado los labios de la menor “jamás estaría decepcionada o enojada contigo por vivir tu vida, ¿entiendes?” agregó, y como por impulso rodeo con los brazos a la menor. a veces olvidaba lo joven que realmente era su hermana y eran momentos como aquél los que le recordaban de lo mucho que aún le faltaba descubrir. “ y escucha, siempre y cuando seas responsable y feliz con tus decisiones voy a apoyarte al cien ” le reiteró una vez más; nunca había escuchado palabras similares de parte de sus padres, por lo que le era importante recordarle a ava (y a si misma) que después de todo lo que habían pasado aún podían contar con al menos dos personas más en su familia.
