“i’m tellin’ ya groot, these terrans are a bunch’a freaks.” rocket whispered all too loudly.

“Sure, yeah- I’m feeling fine- n- nothing to be concerned about.”

“So there was a mutant event that every mutant was invited to except for me? How lovely.”

“–can’t say I ever thought this is where we’d end up, but I suppose it’s progress.”

“I- I can’t believe this is actually happening-”

“Are you suggesting that we get involved? Manhattan isn’t a domain that we communicate with often.”

“And I have a feeling that griping about it will not accomplish anything.” Erik commented, firm but not sharp in his words. “Years you have been here Logan, and still your edge has not left you. I wonder why that is.”

“That’s fine, worked with less.” He was looking at him, but clearly the mutant wasn’t the focus of his sight. “Sorry if it looks like I’m staring, pal.” He said as his mind zoomed in and enhanced on the victim’s mouth. Slight discoloration  on lips and tongue, dilated pupils, and an almost invisible dusting of a purple powder on the fingers. 

“Damn shame. Hit the stuff too hard.” He muttered before sliding his glasses back on over his golden eyes.

“I’m getting too old for this shit.” The completely gray haired Frank groaned as he pulled his glasses off his face. “Say cheese.” He muttered to himself, he used to love that catchphrase, before his yellow eyes shifted to a blinding blue followed by a massive flash. As he was reviewing the crime scene in his head with great detail, enhancing it, zooming, changing color scales, and rotating the 3D image he asked. “You’re my best witness. What can you tell me?”

“Common misconception. Just an oddity that can be overlooked. Once again, m-u-t-a-n-t. Mutant. Not elf.”
