It's been a while, hasn't it? Honestly, it's been too long, and I've missed yapping with everyone and anyone who was willing to listen. If you've been hanging out with me for a while, you know that I usually try to post something at least once a month, and I just...haven't lol. Nothing was wrong and all was, and still is, well; I just wasn't feeling very yappy and was doing my own thing. Now that I think about it, I honestly feel that it started to show a little in my reviews, which may explain why I wasn't entirely confident about the last 2 or 3 posts that I had done. That being said, I am back and feeling more unhinged than before, and I'm ready to make it everyone else's problem. I'm yapping about the wrong stuff for too long, though...just like old times. We're so back, baby, and, BOI, did I miss you guys.

Okay, no, anyways. This game. Ooh, this game. I played this one...I think a few hours after it had dropped which was months ago. I had found it on accident, and it was an absolute gem. Y'all, friends, squad? When I tell you that it was SO good. I'll get more into it during the review, though, because y'all know that I'll get real yappy real quick, and it's too soon for that portion. That being said, I'm going to go ahead and get into narration mode and summarize this thing for ya. In case it's been that long and you forgot, or you have no idea who I am and had the quirky misfortune of stumbling across this yappy ass blog, I'll tell you as much about the game as possible without ruining the game itself.

Are you ready for the yap sess, because you best believe that I am locked, I am loaded, and I am about to release the absolute FATTES-- Well, not too fat, but still a fat ramble nonetheless lol.

Anyways, friends? Squad? After literal months...let's get into it.

Oooh, I'm so excited~! I missed you guys so much <3 Snacks to celebrate? We're headed to the convenience store anyways. Okay, that's for realsies enough. Let's get into it.

So boom.

We work at a convenience store (aha, see? Ya see what I did there? With going to the convenience store? Aah~), and, let me tell ya, it can get pretty...actually, it's pretty ordinary, if you want me to be real about it. You can honestly go as far as to say it's boring, because it lowkey is.

I mean, yeah, we get our weirdos in there every now and again, but it's pretty chill overall, and we vibe with it. Does everyone around us believe we're better than an assistant general manager at a convenience store? Yes. Do we care what they think, though? ...A little. But it's like, it's our life. We're perfectly content with where we are, and there's nothing wrong with that...right?

No. Stopping the thoughts right there. We'll go into an existential crisis later, but right now? We have an afternoon to night shift to complete. We're content, we're chillin', and we're good with that.

Anyways, remember those weirdos I mentioned earlier? Well, one of those weirdos became a regular, so he's not so weird anymore.

Even though he wears that bag on his head every day, which is still weird...

Then again, it's more weird that it stays in such good condition despite him wearing it every day. Still, he's a chill guy. Did I mention that his name is Darius? Yeah. His name's Darius, and he works at a fish market.

So anyways, Darius comes in after his shift, like always, and he says that he's happy to see us, like always, and we have our little chit-chat...like always. Now, like, not always, while Darius is looking for his snacks, guess what snack WE got?

Alexa, play the intro to All of the Lights by Kanye West, specifically like the first, like, 30 seconds or whatever, because when I tell you I'm about to give this man the most thirsty ass intro...

This is Tristan. Just Tristan. Like, oh, pfft, Tristan? Okay. Big deal. Definitely not more excited about him visiting us today than our loyal Darius who always makes it a point to stop by after work during our shift. Ahaha ha...heh...

Well, there actually is no anyways. Tristan left, our excitement was pretty evident, and Darius is clearly pissed about our very public display of affection. We honestly didn't know what else to say after that, so...we don't.

We don't say anything, we ring Darius up, and...he leaves. Not abruptly, like you're probably thinking, but he left pretty dejected. It didn't make it any better that he was like "I just don't want you to get in trouble" and "Have a good night" and "Be safe" and gave us a tip and-- ahhh, it actually sucks that we didn't at least try to acknowledge the situation. Maybe we should've...

...Actually?

There is no maybe; we absolutely should've.

So...I'm not into the whole fish guts thing, but I'm sure as hell into the him being in my gu-- Okay, all right, that's enough. LMAO I'M BACK Y'ALL.

But no, all jokes and whorniness aside, this game was really good. The progression is so good, the art style is crisp, and our MC is canonically a sista y'all!...or at least a person with dark skin lol. Either way, a win is a win. I was extremely excited about that, because you honestly don't see that often. Like, I feel seen whenever the MC is all gray and faceless and whatnot, but like, to actually see the dark skin that I didn't have to physically select? Whaaaaaat?

But no, the plot is plotting, and the lead up is leading. I don't think a demo could've been anymore demo-ey than that, ya know? Admittedly, the summary didn't provide much justice to the actual game, but that's because I feel like I would've absolutely butchered the demo for you if I added any more and because I'm rusty and out of practice. Just a tiny bit more of a spoiler, there's actually, like, an ENTIRE intro from Darius' POV, but I didn't add it for flow purposes, and, like I mentioned, I didn't want to give out too many details.

Speaking of flow, I will stress this point again: the flow is seriously impeccable for a demo. It's mostly narration (duh, right?), background info, and a snippet of drama, but it's all just enough to let you get a feel for what's happening, an understanding of why it's currently happening, and dread for what's possibly coming next; it's the perfect mixture. I mean, the fact that we have a boyfriend? Lmaooooo RIP kid. Remember that dread thing that I had mentioned? I am absolutely dreading the events following the demo because, don't get me wrong, I likes me a faceless hottie, but Tristan? Tristan is FOINE, ya understand? Hella fine, and I'm going to be sick when that man dies, because y'all know damn well that the chosen love interest doesn't usually make it to the sequel like the forced one does... but I mean, hey, we don't know that, ya know? Maybe Tristan will make it after all.

...Well, we still don't know that for sure.

You know what? I don't even see that, because it's crossed out, so anyways :)))))))

For you guys' sake, I tried to avoid this, but can I yap about the art? The faceless hot guy thing has obviously been done before, but like, I absolutely LOVE how expressive Darius. You know how much skill you have to have to portray emotions though a convenience store bag with one eye hole in it? When I tell you that I am OBSESSED with how they drew his expressions--!!

Look. Look at all that. Like, that's some quality shit right there. Give me more bag face expressions, dev (team); don't play with me...respectfully, of course.

But, yeah, no, this game was so good, and I absolutely cannot wait for the full release to drop. I highly suggest that you give this a go for yourself, so much so, I'm gonna put the link right here just for your convenience (aha, get it?). Oh look, here it is again. And again. And one more time.
