Alaska Donovan

Getting things the easy way wasn't really in the cards for anyone with the name Donovan. At least that's how it felt some times. "Yes," he said in an almost exasperated tone. It was clearly not at Alaska but at feeling he really needed a drink right now too.

Never once did she think that his tone or expression was towards her, they were dealing with a loss and she knew it was going to be hard on both of them so... drinking made it easier. ❝ Good. ❞ She spoke as she asked for two shots and to bring the bottle.

"Well that says more about you, than anyone else," Penelope said. Afterall Penelope had learnt from the best, not to care, her mother. But she liked to think she was better than the woman. Caring was like laughing in the woman's face and she liked that, but it also meant she didn't care for people that reminded her of the emotionless woman. "Guess I will leave you to it then."

❝ Not a problem at all I think. ❞ Alaska stated as caring meant heartbreak and she wasn't about to let emotions get the better of her. ❝ Buh bye. ❞

"No, I guess not," he agreed. It was probably the worst thing that could happen. "But people who are grieving can take even the best intentions personally," he pointed out, moving to pour her out the drink and hand it over to her. "How is your mom doing?"

❝ No one ever said that I was a nice person to begin with. ❞ She stated as she looked down to the drink, accepting it. ❝ She's doing. Not tell with isolating herself but, she's doing. ❞

Tyler had never really understood why Elena and everyone else seemed to get a kick out of graveyards before. Even with his own parents. But now, with this, it felt different. He had spent more time at Matt's headstone than he ever had at his father's. It didn't feel real. Matt, gone, and this time not coming back. Standing at his gravesite wouldn't change that, but he couldn't bring himself to leave.

It was every so often that Alaska would come to see her father's grave. She liked to go when no one was around because of her stubborn ways. Not wanting people to see her as weak when she noticed that Tyler was at his headstone which made her stop a couple of meters back to just watch for a moment.

Quentin let out a sigh as he felt Alaska's head on his shoulder. His breath felt heavy in his chest. "I wish we could skip to the easier part," he said in a soft tone. He hated to think it but he could get why vampires turned off their emotions. If he had the choice he would turn his off right now.

The only person that Alaska could actually show some type of emotion with was her brother. ❝ If only things were that easy for us. ❞ She stated with a whisper. ❝ Feel like drinking with me? ❞

"I would have said, unsure how to address you knowing you just lost your father," Ace corrected with a shrug. Both answers where as good as each other, and not worth focusing on. "Yeah, I'll get you a drink," he said. he would say the bottle but he was honestly worried she might try and drink it all.

❝ It's not like she can say anything that's worse than what's happened. ❞ She stated with simple words dripping from her lips. ❝ Thank you. ❞

"Well I would hope so, if words can make it better, then do you really care at all? Plus I'm not looking to pity anyone."

❝ I don't care about people and never have I. ❞ She stated as she did care about people, just a very limited amount.

"I never don't have anything to say," Penelope said, looking down at the other. "Now, anything that will make you feel better. That I don't have."

❝ I'm not some sad, pathetic puppy. I don't need words to make me feel better. ❞ She spoke to the female as she half rolled her eyes.

Quentin started to open his mouth to say something but found there was nothing he wanted to say. Not only to her but to anyone. He didn't even have it in him to put on a kind smile. Just moved to be next to her and quietly looked out to everything else.

Even though Quentin had his own family going on, his own life now, seeing him sit next to her tot calm her down a bit. She was on edge and ready to slap someone across the face. She settled with resting her head onto his shoulder. ❝ Day by day Quen. ❞
