NEW ALBUM RELEASED WORLDWIDE YESTERDAY My album ASCEND was released worldwide yesterday, on almost 50 digital platforms including all the major ones (iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Google Play, Tidal, Beatport, Amazon Music, etc.). The tracks on the album span many flavors, tempos, and vibes, often mashing up classic EDM and "nu disco" electronic and synth elements with unexpected cultural and linguistic references. The result is an album that defies genres, classifications, and international borders. From the dance floor anthem "Ascension" that inspires the album title, to "Peking Opera" that clashes EDM with Chinese opera vocals, to the tribal drums of "Sequencing," to the insanely danceable funk/bluegrass mashup of "Kentucky, Japan," to the potty-mouthed (in Italian, at least) "Vaffanculo," to the Daft Punk-inspired EDM tribute "Paft Dunk," to the meditation-esque "Being Aware of Being Aware," to the Halloween-themed "Ghost," this album has something to delight and amuse almost anyone — and hopefully, to get everyone off their seats and onto the dance floor. I’m pledging 100% of my artist proceeds from my music in 2019 to the nonprofit Everytown for Gun Safety. And I chose today, Sep 18, for the album’s release because today would have been my mother’s 85th birthday. This one is for you, mom.
