Gods pursuit of man
“Worship is recognizing and responding to what Jesus has done and is doing all around you”
But what did He actually do and how?
The story begins with a Father, a Son, a Spirit and a common dream within their heart. This dream originated from the the love that was shared in the great dance between the Three, and in that love they were one. This dream was to create man, and man was to participate and be the object of which the trinity would share this love with. And so it was, They created a garden of pleasure and named it “Eden” and man was created out of the dust and placed in the gooey centre of it all.
~ You are the absolute depiction of Gods pleasure! ~
Adam was created in the image of God and shared not only the love between the trinity, but the same breath! This is how close God longs to be with man. The plan was that Adam and his Father, Man and God, would walk hand in hand in the cool of the afternoon and converse with each other face to face. This is where Gods heart for Intimacy, was introduced to all humanity.
~ You are created for deep intimacy with God! ~
One day, man was deceived into thinking of himself less than what he was and began to distrust his identity as a son and what God had already done and declared over him from the start. “If you eat this fruit, you will become like God” said the serpent. But if we look back, we find that man was already like God. Made in the exact image of his Creator. Therefore Man began to rely on self works to try get something he already had from the beginning.
~ You have been made in the exact image of the happy God! ~
This is where the fall of man began, this happened not only because he disobeyed God, but also because he didn’t trust in Him and what He did. This caused man to stray from his original purpose of his creation and began to toil and work and strive to try please and get closer to God, who was already so close. Sin had covered and hid his mind distorting what was reality. But don’t worry, It gets better! The original plan for intimacy and friendship still stirred in Gods heart. He had a plan from the start to make things even better, even more intimate. Even though man had fully turned his heart away from God, The position of Gods heart stayed the same and it burned for redemption. And Gods pursuit of man began.
~ You, yes you, are pursued by God no matter where you are in life! ~
Ever since the beginning, God has longed for our hearts, even when were covered in sin and dirt, He sees us for who we are, who he intended us to be. The old testament is riddled with religion where man had forgotten his identity. This is where God intervened in the course of humanity. This is where the heart of the Godhead is fully exposed. The Father sent His only Son in love, to restore the relationship between God and Man. The Son of God became the Son of Man, giving up his divinity and taking on flesh and the sin nature that had corrupted humanity. The Son reached into the very dirt we were covered in, stooped down to our level with the intention of restoring the relationship.
~ You are the desire of Gods heart! ~
This is where things start to get exciting! Jesus began to strip away the veil that stood between us and our birthright of intimacy with God. Nothing could extinguish this passion burning in the heart of Jesus, not even death! Jesus became our atonement by taking on our deceived nature of sin by diving into our world, absorbing us into himself, dying as us in the flesh and resurrecting with us and lifting us up back and beyond origin! Your old man has been crucified, your dept repaid, the curse lifted and you have been made righteous and whole in His sight by this Son of Man, Jesus. But what does all this mean? This means we have been set free from the bondage of sin! we have been restored back to our original purpose to intimacy with God. But better still, we are now seated in heavenly places with the Father, The veil has been torn! There is now no more barriers between you and God because we are now one with Him! This was the plan from the start, that we would become one with God. This is the good news of Christ!
~ You are no longer under the weight of law, but under the weight of His Love! ~
Jesus has redeemed us back to the Loving Father, who now holds us in an inescapable embrace of acceptance.
