*the beach to hang is ASHWEM it’s in the north (mandorim the one next to it is very nice and quite but no shacks so no shade)* *on ashwem is La Plage a fancy french shack good food definitely lunch or dinner*

* for a more shanti less crowded walk to the end of ashwem to the last shack called neeem’s arabian nights- this is where you chill when it’s really hot in the afternoon and smoke and read.*

On the beach in Koh Phangan, Thailand called Had Tien. On this beach lies the very trendy Sanctuary detox spa. There is also the weekly parties at Guy’s bar where people seem to retox for the week’s detox. On the opposite side of the bay from the Sanctuary sits Nataraj….positively the coolest place I have rented on airbnb:

Of course when one goes to Koh Phangan, one must go through Koh Samui. Of course I would stay at Kamalaya if I could and study Yogo with my friend Lieve. Her husband designed the detox spa, and it is one of the best in the world.

If one is not detoxing, doing yoga or reading a book, a meal at Five Islands and a trip snorkelling and to islands with virgin beaches is certainly an excellent way to pass the time on Koh Samui.

Bobby Seven has one of the coolest down to earth shops on in Had Tien Bay, Koh Phangan, Thailand. He makes everything from scratch with beautiful organic materials sourced both locally and from the far corners of the world. His products are beautiful. Going to Bobby’s shop is a great experience. He is a wonderful character who is passionate and very skilled with his craft.

As the winter nears, it comes the time to plan ones escape. I strongly suggest Luang Prabang for a winter adventure.

When I go to visit textile workshops further up the river, I like to stay in Luang Prabang, enjoy the delicious food and atmosphere and travel by boat on the Mekong.

When staying in town, I love to stay at the 3 Nagas Hotel.
