Stumbling Home → [Edgar + Jackie]
Jackie had been wandering about both the Muggle city and the wizarding world the majority of the day today in search of work to fill in the empty days during her summer, and she didn’t succeed. Each interview ended badly with the simple statement of, ‘you don’t have enough experience in this field of work,’ and now all she wanted to do was go home and sleep. But that wasn’t going to happen tonight. As she stumbled up a dark street, hearing the roar of rowdy men from the pubs that lined it, she saw a figure - a figure of someone who she recognised - grasping hold of the wall, drunk out of their mind. As she drew nearer, their features came to light. “Ed?" She asked, her tone shocked but hushed. She took another step forward, her body crouching forward slightly. “Ed, are you alright?"
Now that he'd stopped walking and clung to the wall of the pub for support, the queasy feeling that had sent Edgar's stomach rolling seemed to have faded to a manageable level. Standing straight, he didn't let go of the wall for now. The world was still spinning far too much to allow him to do that without falling arse first or face first to the floor. It was noisy outside with crowds of other drunken patrons, but somehow Edgar was pretty sure he managed to hear someone calling his name. He glanced up to check, though it too a few seconds before the blurry, wobbling became still enough to recognise.
"Hey, Jac," He positively beamed, slurring out a little greeting and pushing himself away from the wall. The wave of nausea was long forgotten in favour of greeting and old school friend. "Me? Yeah, yeah, yeah, no. I'm good, great, just taking a little break here from um, yeah."
