Backstory: A offish child in his school life, Gupta was known to be the best of the best, yet rare to shine personally in the spotlight of highschool idol ship. When graduation came about he gave himself a name not so much in the city but in places like national parks for nature reserves, following what suited his power the most (Hint he always loved the ocean but seems to have an inner conflict on the manner). An interesting thread about the discursive function of “waslike”.

Technically speaking, I wouldn’t say that this construction is really a compound verb “waslike”, because it still conjugates like you’d normally conjugate the verb “to be”. (I’m like, you’re like, s/he’s like; I was like, you were like, s/he was like - not I waslike, you waslike, s/he waslikes.)
