The human centipede: first sequence (2009) does not deserve all the hate that it gets. It's an actually very good body horror film that is so much more than just gore, and in my opinion the gore isn't as bad as most people say especially if you're already pretty into horror. I also personally think this movie was actually a very vital turning point for the whole animal x human modification type of body horror. The second and third sequels are the ones we should be ridiculing as they are actually disgusting simply for shock value. The first one has an actual plot,and an interesting one at that, good characters, good gore, and a good ending. At the same time though I think you should set this movie aside for later if you're still just getting into horror, I mean I watched it long after discovering my love for the genre, so be wary but open minded at the same time. Horror is supposed to be unconventional and off putting so don't let a "traumatized" tiktoker stop you.
