When Sirius learns that he’ll have a Deaf student in his class next year, he takes an ASL I summer course at his local community college. He didn’t expect the professor to be so attractive though.

Summary:

Talking about one's fantasies is so much easier in the dark. With Harry's gentle prompting, Draco is able to ask for what he wants in the bedroom and is ecstatic when Harry teaches him about the pleasures of rimming.

Excerpt:

“What was that you were reading the other day?” Harry asked. “I couldn’t see the cover, but you seemed rather engrossed by it.”

The tips of Draco’s ears turned pink, and he was grateful that Harry couldn’t see it. “Oh, nothing much,” he finally choked out. “Just, um…”

Harry was quiet and gave Draco the time to find his words. The dark was emboldening. Something about not being able to see each other very well gave him the strength to plough through a conversation that he normally would find near impossible.

“It was…a book about sex,” he continued slowly.

He could almost hear Harry’s soft grin. “Found Sirius’ old werewolf and vampire romance novels, did you?” the man teased.

“No, I most certainly did not,” Draco snapped, reverting back to his defensive self before taking a breath and calming down. He had been working on his tendency to hide embarrassment and discomfort behind a wall of snark and superiority. It was slow going, but Harry was patient and understanding. 

The man laughed, “Well if you change your mind, I’ll set a few of my favourites out for you.”

Draco wanted to feel scandalised, but a spark of warmth pooled in his groin that he couldn’t completely ignore. “Maybe,” he said.

“So,” Harry prompted, “tell me about your book.”

“As I said, it was about sex, particularly between two males.” Harry’s silence felt curious and inviting him to speak further. “I, um…I thought that since I’m not very experienced, it might be good to read up on it. Learn other ways to please you other than—”

“Draco,” Harry cut him off and scooted closer in the bed, grabbing his hand and squeezing affectionately. “You don’t have to do that. I don’t need anything more than you. Sex is great, but it’s not necessary. It’s just a way for us to physically manifest our feelings, a different form of intimacy. Please don’t think that you have to do something, or be someone, else—”

Draco silenced him with a kiss, and though it was brief and chaste, the contact soothed each of them like salve to a wound. “If you would have let me finish,” he chuckled, “I would have gone on to say that I want to learn ways to please you and me. I…I want to try more. I think I’m ready to do more. With you.”

I have been a HP fan since I was 11, and it is one of the big reasons I now know english at all. I have enjoyed the fandom over the years and met friends through shared love for the wizarding world. That's why, when the author shared her views on Trans women some months back, halfway through the creative process, I had a massive block. I felt very disappointed and just sad and I didn't know if I could enjoy HP anymore. I still will never understand why people need to share their hateful opinions when it really doesn't help anyone whatsoever.

I decided that the fandom has really meant a lot to me, and, disregarding the author, I could still enjoy the characters that, by now , are a world appart from what they came from.

Harry wants the expectations to stop for a moment, for Hermione to let go of the idea that he must want to throw himself into Ministry work, for the professors to stop looking at him as though they expect something from him. He wishes the students’ whispers were louder so that they’d blend together with the everyday bustle of Hogwarts life, so that everything would just become a buzzing that Harry could ignore.

The truth is he doesn’t know if he wants to fix the wizarding world.

The hard truth is that Harry died and then came back and he doesn’t know if there’s more he can give.

Summary: Harry’s resigned himself to petty, inconsequential cases and no real connection to his job at the Auror department—after all, what else would he be doing with his time? He’s not happy, not really, but that hardly matters. A chance encounter with a mostly-naked Draco Malfoy exposes him to an entirely different world, one much more colourful than the lonely one he currently occupies—but at what cost?

On the first day of dueling class, Harry had been buzzing, anxious to finally prove himself and maybe no longer get treated like a little kid all the time. He’d made sure to get a good night’s sleep, and he took twenty minutes to meditate before heading into work, calming his mind and centering his magic, determined to make a good showing.

After his third handily-defeated opponent of the morning, Harry had rolled his neck a bit and glanced at the rest of his classmates, shocked to see the narrowed eyes and whispers behind hands.

Ron had looked proud, at least. Harry clings to that when he feels particularly bad about his job and his colleagues, when the memories of the distrust and discontented mutters threaten to overwhelm, when he considers just quitting outright. When he thinks of Trainer Dawlish (never reinstated to active duty after his actions in the War, and bitter about it) finally calling a halt to the practical session and hustling Harry away for testing, finally declaring him ‘dangerous’ and ‘overpowered’.

When he stopped being treated like a peer and started being treated like a threat.

One of Draco’s eyes was blue, now.

Glacial, Ionian, as bright as a wide open summer sky. His eyes—one blue and startling, one grey and familiar—were just as sharp, and piercing, and the longer Harry looked, just as angry as they had always been. But the contrast, the change, had caught Harry unawares. Storm-grey and sunshine-blue. They were fascinating.

He had struggled to look away for the rest of that initial briefing. Malfoy had glared at first, when he caught Harry watching. Then he had frowned, those newly dark brows gathering in a formidable scowl, and fixed his two-tone gaze firmly on Robards as he lectured them. After a few minutes though, Malfoy’s expression smoothed into deliberate placidity, and he looked for all the world like he didn’t notice Harry’s scrutiny.

This fic was written for @hpinspiredby​ - I was delighted to write and mod for it in it’s first year! This is the image that sparked the idea for the fic, and this post too.

Alternate Universe where there are no dark lords and no sudden deaths lurking in the corner. But there is still a very blond looking Malfoy prancing about, and when he looks like that, Harry just can't handle it.

Draco wakes slowly, lazily, the comfort of sleep only rivaled by the unfamiliarity of the room around him. There are birds outside the cracked window, singing softly. Early sunlight filters over him like gentle fingers caressing the bed. He’s warm, tangled in a soft duvet, his face in a pillow that smells like sandalwood and—

Harry. He blindly reaches in front of him, and Harry is there, solid and warm and naked and—he’s there. Draco blinks his eyes to focus and finds Harry still asleep, snoring quietly. There’s a little bruise on his neck, just the shape of Draco’s mouth. His lips are still red and raw from Draco’s teeth and stubble. Freckles dust his cheeks, so perfectly arranged they must have been placed there individually.

He looks beautiful.
