Starting a new little Monday series on here called #LibraryofLadies! I'll be sharing an illustrated female author each Monday 📖 First up: Simone de Beauvoir. I start with her because I discovered "The Second Sex" in high school and it was when I first realized how much a book can make you feel less alone in the world. . . After that I began reading her memoir "Memoirs of a Dutiful Daughter" and further found comfort in relating to a teenage girl struggling with identity, belonging, love. A French girl in the 1920s was just like me, and that was a kind of revelation. I must have checked that book out of the Reston Virginia library about a dozen times. . .
