Melody is the first case of a so-called âsuper-flyââshe speaks, thinks and feels as a human child would, and she ages at the same pace. Discovered by an entomologist she calls Father, sheâs separated from the other housefly specimens and raised in secret as his private experiment. But one day, Father disappears, and strangers come in his place to take her. Melody escapes their capture and finds her way out of the facility that had held her, where sheâs faced with her greatest challenge: finding where she belongs in a giant, new world that both loathes and needs her.
