The McQueen Gallery was buzzing that evening. The golden-trimmed walls were covered with art, and the rooms were filled with their appreciators. Some wandered from room to room, taking in each painting. Some gathered at the tables scattered about, sipping tea and coffee, smoking, debating about art, politics, clothing trends, the social decay of the youth, all sorts of things. Servers flitted here and there, expertly balancing trays in their hands.
Palomine was sketching at a table in a corner. She had appeared in a few of the paintings, but luckily, nobody recognized her yet. She'd come there on a mission: to find inspiration for her next project. Her page was covered in sketches of a huge rat who appeared dignified, yet brimmed with latent savagery. Some guests noticed her and whispered; it was unusual to see a lone young lady at these events, even among the free-spirited artists in the room. For a decent lady mouse, to go anywhere unescorted was akin to being some kind of barefoot country mouse! It was like going without clothes! In a house of culture! Did she not know that? Did anyone care about this poor girl and her reputation?!
Palomine was too busy to listen. She discreetly took note of the more fashionable gentlemice's clothing, trying to capture things that her boss would love to wear...

Zélie: Okay. I took the marrow out. But what do I do with these bones...ouuu I know. Zélie: *on the phone* Jacks do your dogs like real bones? Oh, I was just wondering. Palomine who is over this: = _ =
Rose blinked at the dessert. It smelled sweet and honestly, she was a little peckish and couldn't wait to eat it, so she did. Taking a small bite, she was surprised at how sweet it was. She picked up the small board next to her plate (it was one of those days when she didn't want to talk much) and wrote down her question: "You mean bone marrow?"
"Yeah!" Zélie nodded, digging into her own portion. "I had to boil the bones and scoop it all out. It was...a process. But it was worth it! And I have a friend who has dogs, so I won't have to throw them out." Was this a thinly veiled excuse to go to his house? Of course it was. "You know, bone marrow has tons of nutrients. So this is technically healthy!" And she giggled at her own joke.

"Here you go," Zélie sat down a little ramekin with a strawberry slice heart on top. It looked like a normal vanilla custard, but...!
"It's a marrow custard," she said. "Just try it! It doesn't taste like beef at all."
Indeed, it didn't. It tasted like browned butter. But would Rose enjoy it? Only time would tell...
@dxrkeyes was hungry!
"This is called sundae-bokkeum," Zélie announced, placing down a colorful stir-fry dish that smelled of sesame and spices. A dark sausage had been sliced and covered in the piping hot vegetables and sauce. There was enough for two. She also offered him a bowl of rice to eat it with.
"I made the sundae myself," she chirped. "That's what the sausage is called. Sundae. It is sooo good. It's authentic, too. I got the recipe from a Korean lady. Fork or chopsticks?"
Mischievously, she didn't tell him what was in the sausage.

Zélie sat down a plate with a sandwich on it. Between the bread was layers of ham and decadent cheese, and the bread itself was buttered, covered in Gruyere, and pan-fried. It was a grilled cheese on steroids!
"This is a croque monsieur! I could eat 500 of these."

"Okay, there wasn't much in the kitchen, but I did my best," Remy presented Palomine with a piece of prosciutto covered in a white, stringy substance. "I added a splash of vinegar to balance the flavors."
"What is that on top?" Palomine, who was quite ill, peeked out at it from beneath her fabric scrap cocoon.
"Horseradish...! There was this huge root of it in the fridge! It was fresh, too, did she get that today?"
"No! No, I will not eat that, it is too spicy!"
"The meat and the vinegar will cut through the spice! And it'll clear your congestion. Trust me! Here, open up."
Palomine just ducked underneath her blankets again.
"I'll come in there after you~"
"You will REGRET IT." And she sneezed.

"I fear that I might actually have the plague..." Palomine, buried beneath a pile of fabric scraps, looked absolutely miserable!
She did not have the plague. She actually had a very mild infection that she'd survived before.
But she still hated it.
"I have an exhibition soon. I must work, but I cannot get out of bed!"
And then she let out a tiny sneeze.
"Excuse me..."
♚ ❝ Something that tastes good but gets gross after... ❞ Ichigo tilts his head upwards trying to think if there was a translation for this ━━ and it hits him. ❝ Oh! What you're referring to probably comes close to sickening. With Japanese, we have a few different meanings that end up meaning the same thing. The most common one would be 気持ち悪い ( kimochi warui ) ❞.
"Kimochi warui," Zélie repeated. "Hmm! That's fun to say. Ki-mo-chi wa-ru-i...!" she chuckled to herself. "Although I guess you wouldn't say it like that if you were actually eating something you hated. Hey, what is something you hate eating? It's certainly not carrots~!" She joked, pointing at his head.
