Moments vanish like breath
on a mirror,
but Spirit is the one thing
that does not disappear.
Mayan teaching
The Concept of the "Breath on a Mirror"
In Maya legend, the creator gods originally gave the first human beings perfect vision, allowing them to see and understand everything in the universe. Fearing that humans had become too god-like, the creators decided to cloud human understanding. The Popol Vuh describes mortal, worldly vision as being "like breath on a mirror". This serves as a metaphor for the temporary and often distorted nature of human perception—what is seen vanishes quickly, much like condensation on glass.
The Eternal Spirit
While earthly moments, thoughts, and material forms are transient and easily wiped away, the underlying spiritual essence (the nagual or the eternal soul) persists. Many Indigenous and Mesoamerican philosophies emphasize that our physical lives are simply expressions of this deeper, unchanging spiritual consciousness.
the fleeting, ephemeral nature of mortal life and the enduring, eternal essence of the spirit.
“Boundless Power”
At the center of the universe and the center of the heart, we find the same infinite expanse. When we open the heart, we discover it can expand as far as the universe itself.

So it’s 2022, what’s it going to be this year? Bitch or Boss?
We know the answer… Let’s get it Kings & Queens
So it’s liftingwayoflife’s birthday, 8 years young today!
I haven’t been very active on here unfortunately, life got in the way along the way, little bit older, no wiser!
But I hope that in the last 8 years this blog has inspired and motivated at least one or two people, I mean it has 120k followers at this point! It was a big help for me back in the day so I hope it helped someone else on their journey!
I will try and bring back some more content in the future, no promises though, adulting is hard!
Keep grinding Kings & Queens, always forward!
At the end of it all, this is what it’s all about. Live your life the best way possible...

Let It Ride
Shiny Happy People - R.E.M
Whitetail deer movement generally slows during heavy downpours, causing them to seek heavy cover. However, they become highly active right before, and after a storm front passes. Light, steady drizzles often encourage daytime movement, as the rain muffles their sounds, and masks human scent.
Before the Storm: Barometric pressure drops as a front approaches, triggering a noticeable spike in deer feeding. Catch them moving between bedding areas, and food sources.
During Heavy Rain: Deer hunker down in thick, sheltered cover (like conifer stands, or dense brush) to stay dry, and conserve energy. Movement drops significantly.
After the Storm: As the front clears, and pressure rises, deer emerge hungry to feed. This is an optimal time to hunt, or observe.
Light Drizzle: Mild mist suppresses scent, and sound, making deer feel secure. They will often browse in the open longer than they would on a clear day.
