Petition to remove the W from Wooseokās english name
For confused peeps:
ģ° in korean is pronounced: oo like in āshootā
For korean names, people still use a traditional and older style of romanization
Therefore we have the word ģ°ģ° (Umbrella) which is romanized into Usan
And the name ģ°ģ romanized into Woo Seok
Basically, the W is silent and simply there to not make his name look weird
As you can hear in the video above, when used in a sentence, especially following after a vowel, it can sound like there would be a W
Idk if anyone cares about this but I personally want to call my biases by their korean names and not mispronounce it or something :)
Same with names like Dowoon (ėģ“), Woojin (ģ°ģ§) and Seungwoo (ģ¹ģ°)
