♭ - grip my muse’s jaw to make them look yours in the eye

               breath CATCHES in  her  throat (  partially fear ,  partially …  something else  )  as her  head  is  WRENCHED  towards him ,  gaze  forcefully lifted  upwards  to where  he  T O W E R S  over her  chair &  she finds  herself  with no  choice  but  to stare into  his  dark eyes .   ‘ sorry ,  ’   she breathes  out ,  though it’s  hard  to talk  with  his near-painful  grip  on her  jaw .   just a  little  LOWER  and  his  hand would  be  around her  THROAT  and  lord,  something  terribly pleasant  TWISTS  in her  stomach  just thinking  about  —  stop that ,  percy ,  now is  not  the  time.  ‘  vodka  makes  my  mind wander ,  you  see ,  even  when dealing  with  such  a  charming…  conversationalist  as yourself .  ’  she’s not  drunk  but she  is  tipsy ,  speech still  clear  but slowed  as  she takes  her  time as  to  not  stumble  over the LONGER words .

                she  casts  her mind  back  to remember  what  they were  last  talking about ,  though  a  pretty  BLUSH colors  her  cheeks when  she  remembers his  attempts  to take  her  somewhere more  private .   ‘  OH,  mr.  march—  ’  and  the  breathiness of  her  tone is  not  an  affectation  at  all , but  rather  terribly genuine  ‘  —  PLEASE,  don’t  think  i  don’t want  you . ’   because  she  does , truth  be  told , though  part  of her  is  screaming that  she  should NEVER  have come ,  that  she  KNOWS better ,  that he  could  easily  kill her  and  she would  have  NO WAY  of  fighting back .  

                she’s  never  done  this before ,  least  of all  with  a ghost .  it  always felt …  wrong ,  because  she could  see  them even  when  they did  not  wish to  be  seen , too  much  POWER for  her  to lord  over  them .  and  march  had made  her  feel powerful ,  if  only for  a  MOMENT,  with  those  pretty words of  his  (  DEVASTATING,  he’d  called her ,  and  what a  THRILL  that  had given  her ! ) .   but  now she  is  in  his  hotel  &  it seems  he  holds all  the  cards , leaving  her  in a  very  dangerous position  INDEED .   ‘ i just  wouldn’t  want your  opinion  of me  to  change for  the  worse .  ’   that isn’t  a  lie , either ;  she  wants to  stay  in his  good  graces because  it  feels … not  safe ,  but  certainly safer  than  the  ALTERNATIVE .  keep him  interested ,  and maybe  she  has a  higher  chance of  surviving  this .. .   almost  like  scheherazade ,  she  fancies.  but percy  has  no stories  to  tell , certainly  not  enough for  a  thousand and  one  nights , so  she  must be  QUICK  and CLEVER in  other  ways . listen  to  her instincts  —  and her  instincts  are telling  her  to  give in .   ‘  you understand ,  don’t  you ? a  man  of your  reputation … a  man  of your  P O W E R  .  ’   flattery ?  maybe , but  her  words are  sincere .  

               ‘  you  are a  … dangerous  man ,  mr. march ,  ENCHANTINGLY  so ,  and  i  wouldn’t want  you  to think  poorly  of  me ,  but if  you  want me & going  with you  will  not diminish  me  in  your  eyes , then …  ’ she feels  as  if she  is  vibrating , still  afraid  but  also filled with  wanting ,  wanting  him and  wanting  the danger  that  comes with  him ,  all twisting  deliciously  in  her in  some  heady cocktail  of  lust  and fear .   ‘  …  then  i  will give  myself  to  you.  ’
