"And what, you just want me to forget everything that happened between us? Like, like it was nothing?" Jungkook scoffed and turned away from you, hands messing up his hair in despair as he took another breath in.
You stayed silent, out of respect for his breaking heart, or for your already broken one. You weren't sure which one it was.
He came back to you, the dying embers of your love burning in the orbs of his eyes, and snatched up your hand. Your firm palm gripped tight in his trembling ones.
"Say something. Anything. Tell me you don't want this. Tell me you want me. Please."
You stayed silent, not breaking the mask you had built with shattered self-esteem. Your eyes locked with his, and all the days you spent with him played in your mind in a broken tape.
The first time you met him, awkward laughter echoing around you.
The second time you saw him, exchanging bashful smiles and fleeting touches.
The first time he asked you to be his, your heart settling in its place, overflowing with endearment.
All the times he came back to you, his yearning reflected in the way he held you in his arms.
The time you found out he was seeing someone else, sleeping in someone's bed other than yours.
The first time you confronted him, only for him to lie to your face.
The last time you confronted him, caught embracing someone else in your house.
You shook your hand free, and said,
"I hope this is the last time I see you."
