“Oh, get off!”

Shoving another one of he odd, small creatures that crowded around her, Ava hissed as she continued to try and flee. All she had wanted was to go to the store, but clearly the miniature monsters had other plans.

She had resolved not to get involved in the entire ordeal, after it became abundantly clear just how disadvantageous it would be for him. However.. What was it? Motherly instincts, perhaps? Something compelled her to approach the fleeing youth, swatting away at the smaller beasts that seemed to be drawn towards her. Thankfully it wasn’t the more aggressive, larger monsters chasing her.

“It’s a holiday that only benefits corporations and fools in love. No, the gift does not have to be from a romantic partner, but romantic feelings are, unless you are a child forced to participate in exchanging valentine’s cards with the class, the motivation behind the gift 9 times out of 10.”

“It’s exploiting the concept of romance to sell chocolate and gifts. It’s capitalism at it’s peak. Not to mention due to this exploitation, society has come to shame and poke fun at those that do not receive these gifts due to a lack of romantic partner. Essentially, it makes those of us that remain single feel like utter garbage because we can’t waste money on a romantic partner.”

“Uh, yeah, sure!”

It, admittedly, felt nice having people actually interested in her instead of dismissing or looking down on her. “What do you want to know?”

“O-Oh, no. It’s not that I have any questions per se. It’s just.. I felt it might be fun to speak to someone I have something in common with.. If that makes sense.“

Interacting with organics was a fairly new experience for her, all things considered. This was the first time she’d actually approached someone of her own will in this city. She seemed like a fairly nice person anyway, so that likely drew the android towards her as well.
