This pouch wasn't worth 10gp... it was probably not even worth a few silver pieces... and guano in a petshop? May not even have been charged if he had just asked for it. All of these were super basic components and, yet, they really did a good job of making it feel like Caleb had been scrounging those together for days, most likely... and all of it for 6 seconds of Frumpkin 😟

That's one sad wizard, is what I'm saying, and I love the crumbs of storytelling they sprinkled so generously in the first episode... like with Nott asking if he was cursed, because she needed to know that she wasn't alone and the reverence with which she took the button or how horribly her addiction is treating her... Also, Caleb using a boy scout trick to light up the fire instead of a cantrip... maaaan
