Honestly, it's almost as if the show went out of its way to make his death as lame as possible. As per usual, it's another accident! Thanks Rhaena! So that alone took away from it, but they could have at least made it like... idk grand and cinematic. It SHOULD have been the end of the episode. Like, last shot end. It should have been longer. But the actual death was blink and you missed it lmao. Which is wild, given that I'd wager for a lot of people HOTD is a second screen viewing. I'm willing to bet some ppl saw him unclasp himself from Vermax since it was a rather long part of the scene, and just, like, got distracted to look at their phone or whatever and missed him actually getting shot.

Mayphaps they realized that with cutting off all Jace's storylines no one would give a flying fuck and decided not to waste time idk. But since it should be a turning point for Nyra... Or not, anyone still remembers Luke? The kid whose death started the war she spent the whole of S2 opposing lmao? Or her miscarriage? Losing two kids changed nothing for her, so what gives now aside from plot convenience? Because she was willing to all but tell Jace to go fuck himself in favor of Ali. Actually, funny how she might have helped him not get killed... If only she'd listend to him. So essentially in the show, Nyra's actions led to Jace's death, just like Al*cent might as well push Helaena out the window with her own two hands at this point.

Like I've said before, if no death is of consequence to the CHARACTERS, how the fuck are the viewers supposed to care? But it would be very funny if Jace's death is the one that suddenly has meaning for the story, given that it was executed the worst by far. Worse than Rhaenys', Luke's, Jaehaerys' which were never brought up one episode after they happened, but at least they stuck with you via spectacle... in Jaehaerys case what little acting they allowed Phia' to do in the scene. Jace's? I feel like his will be remembered as the ultimate whoopsie of yet another poor dragon handling, only with Luke and Vhaegar we at least saw a great reaction from Aemond, and with Rhaena and Sheepsteeler we uhhh... heard her panicking?

I’ve mentioned before that I actually loved Rh*enyra back in S1, so the way they made her so dull and uninteresting in S2 was a major whiplash to me. But I find myself in a similar situation with A*licent now. Truly, their fanfic about the two is singlehandedly ruining the whole bloody show. And yeah, I was actually among those who liked the age changes and thought making them childhood friends with a crush had a potential to go somewhere. Little did I know it had the potential to crash and burn the whole story.

I’m not even gonna touch saint Rhae Rhae here, I’m over being pissed off about her, and her scenes actually made me laugh this episode. Honestly, when Jace was trying to talk some sense into her and she just kept on going, “Nooooo, Ali wouldn’t betray me like that” I genuinely cried from laughter ‘cause girl, how stupid can you be?

But Al*cent… I’ve had it with her as well. Truly, writers can’t write characters more intelligent than they are, which is why both Nyra and her are such a joke at this point. Al*cent is a shell of who she used to be in S1. And don’t get me wrong, she already was in S2, but she was sorta harmless up until the very end, just constantly crying in her closeups and whining how bad her sons (whom she shaped up to be the men they are now) are. But 3x01… Oh boy, if Nyra just entertains me with how dumb she is, I honest to god wanted to slap Al*cent the whole time.

Oh they acknowledged she shaped who Aegon’s has become! Great! Is it a shit retconning of the whole of S2? Of the end of S2? Of course not, she acknowledged it and proceeded to… Try and send Aemond to his death… Which is just… The fuck are you doing? I’m not even touching on the stupidity of her trying to seduce him which was… the fuck was that? But it was such a weird kiss in general that it honestly looked like Aemond’s done it before, it wasn’t some passionate spur of the moment one, more like "ah yeah we do that every other Tuesday". Which just… Huh? Al*cent’s touched him plenty of times in S1, they’ve, in fact, shared a very similar scene, and it didn’t lead to that, so what gives? Other than our resident character assassination & Condan&Hess' humiliation and other kinks.

And the thing is, they tried to make Al*cent that savvy manipulator again with this scene, but gurl, who the fuck are you trying to manipulate? At this point, Aemond literally is the only chance you have of even trying to survive with Hel and Jaehaera when Nyra you all but invited comes now that Aegon whose life you've promised is gone. And you’re just rushing him off to die? Peak planning. Very smart. So cunny.

Like, at this point, the jokes about Al*cent being the one to push Hel out the window start sounding very plausible, ‘cause clearly Al*cent no longer has a single loving bone in her body for any of her kids or grandkids, nor a working braincell. And if she doesn’t do it herself, she all but masterminded the events leading to that in the show. And then we will of course get another pointless fucking scene with closeups of her crying ‘cause bitch, cry me a river. It will be on your hands 100%. I don’t feel sorry for you one bit.

And speaking of closeups, I’ve truly had it with one of her kids speaking, and the camera focusing on her face. I honestly can’t see her face anymore. We’ve seen plenty of it last season. To steal away from the actual characters who are doing something but dumbfuckery is a crime at this point. But from Hel OF ALL? The character who barely has any lines or screen time? Fuck you, show.

And knowing how ride or die both Emma and Olivia are for this stupid ship which has ruined their characters who had no business going against their Houses/families over a stupid crush of 20 years ago which turned sour by the end of S1 and then somehow flourished come S2 is just… It pisses me off how much they’re willingly contributing to the demise of what could have been a great show and great characters.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk, I’ll unfortunately continue to watch until all my TG babes are dead, but I’ll probably skip through every other scene starting with E2, because fuck this shit, this shit show HOTD turned into, and the leading characters. Too bad with Hel’s scenes, I’ll apparently have to suffer through both dumbasses since she's not allowed to have scenes with Aegon or Aemond at least where they speak or don't hate each other but seems to have sisterly scenes with Nyra this season. 🤡
