see, i’m not too tough on writing tropes because, for me, it’s all about the little things you add on top of the overused plot that’ll make it bearable. kind of like a plain ol’ bowl of ice cream. sure, everyone can and will eat vanilla but it is wayyy better with candy pieces and a caramel drizzle. 

granted, there are a few that i am so so so tired of seeing. i’m really tired of the stupid good girl/bad boy trope especially with that fucking After movie coming out. also the “good girl” is so virginal and proper and pure to the point where i’m laughing incredulously at the shit she says/does. 

this kind of goes hand-in-hand with the good girl/bad boy, but the good girl has sexual awakening. YAWN. it’s 2019. with the internet, plain old curiosity and the ability to discreetly get an abundance of sex toys delivered to your home, it sure as shit doesn’t take a man for a girl to have her first orgasm or do something “dirty.” stop inflating the male ego lmao.

OI! another one is rich CEO guy meets hardworking college student/cinderella. i hate this one sometimes too because they’re always really predictable. the rich guy is cold and that’s how he got rich and the girl is warm and sad and mom’s dying or something. also, they almost never explain how rich guy is rich. or they’ll say he’s the CEO—bitch of what?? and there are other ways for a person to be the “boss” and be rich… like they can own a talent agency or be the editor in chief of a magazine or news publication. but it’s always just some rich guy that works in an intimidating skyscraper with floor-to-ceiling windows.

yeah same here. especially bc, like i said, i’ve been in an emotionally abusive relationship with a narcissist. whether it’s about Niall or not, i really feel for Hailee. and if it IS about Niall, then i feel HELLA for Hailee bc that’s just the thing about narcissists: they appear very charming and perfect to everyone else and they also gaslight the shit out of you so it’s hard to not only convince others but even yourself that you’ve been involved with one in the first place. and the fact the fandom is acting like this is some joke is deeply concerning bc this is just a precursor to how they’d react if shit really hit the fan and Niall were accused of something even more deplorable.

i grew up with a narcissistic mother. that shit’s no joke. it’s exhausting, it’s abusive, and it makes you feel really small. so if— IF anything did happen between her and Niall, not only does she deserve to be able to speak out about her experience 1000% BUT she also deserves some respect for being brave enough to talk about it, not having people make a mockery of it and laugh in her face.

it’s all #metoo movement and #feminism in the fandom until your fave gets called out for being an asshole! which by the way!! we don’t even know what happened. this fandom is so good at jumping to conclusion and treating women like they’re extensions of the men they’ve been with! Hailee has had other exes! Hailee has probably met a lot of narcissists!! Hailee has probably been a victim of Niall’s narcissistic ways!! hell, again, we don’t know.

quit jumping to conclusions!! quit idolizing grown ass rich white men so much that you feel the need to defend them and their actions by harassing other people!! quit assuming female celebrities’ lives revolve around the men the appear to be romantically involved with!
