Oh, baby!
Summary: Gavi changed and didn't notice how much it was affecting you and your relationship.
Warnings: cursing, asshole!Pablo.
A/N: Hello to everybody! This is something that I thought for quite a long time. It's a long one, so grab a snack. Love you all ๐
It was no secret for people that Gavi was someone who was very private. He barely posts anything on Instagram or stories.
Even when the injury came, he was very low profile, not posting more than necessary. Even the "necessary" posts were a story or two per month.
When you two met, it was like you two had this connection that was undeniable. You are Pablo's physio niece. You met when you were at his place, and Gavi came for a talk.
Nobody expected Gavi to find someone to be with during this time. Not even your friends and family expected you to be with him.
At first, you tried to keep your distance, but when inevitably he kept with the excuses on why he needed to be at your uncle's house just to see you.
You did give him a chance to get to know him. You even noticed that your uncle was also trying to play Cupid. Then you discovered that it was Gavi the one who asked him to do that.
Your relationship was new. You two are about to hit the six months mark in just a few days, it was fairly new.
Thanks to you meeting gavi during his injury and being his physio's niece was that you met his parents and sister a little bit too early than normal.
You know them and like them, and you can say say that they know you and like you too. You can even say that Aurora and you became friends thanks to that.
Something Gavi and you talked about before even being together was to always make time for each other.
You try to see each other as much as Gavi's career allows you to. Always trying to have some time to talk and catch up on each other's.
You are thankful that Pablo has his own place, his parents visit him, but they are not that much around.
Now that he is no longer injured, he gets the house to himself more than ever. Making it easy for the two of you to have a place where you can have time to yourselves.
"Gavi, how does it feel to be the winner of La Super Copa?" You ask him, taking his shirt off.
He grabs your cheeks, shutting you up by kissing your lips. "De puta madre." He smirks.
"Oh, Gavi, what a dirty mouth you have." You act all surprised. You start to undo the knot in his sweats.
He can't help but laugh. "I'm not the one who's undressing me." He says, hands caressing your nakedness.
"Well, I can't be the only naked one." You smile, pulling his pants and boxers down. You grab his hand, pulling him towards the bed for him to kneel on the mattress. "But I can be the one giving you your reward."
He pushes you lightly, making you fall on the pillows. He waits for you to accommodate yourself on the bed.
Grabbing your akles and separating your legs. "Remind me that we need to go to the pharmacy." He says, kissing your neck.
You don't even pay attention to his words, you just moan and nod, not even caring what he was saying.
"Te amo." You say, grabbing his cheeks and kissing his lips.
"Yo mรกs."
โจ๏ธโจ๏ธโจ๏ธ
"I don't get it," you say, turning your head to him. "So Ansu said that to Flick?" You ask, surprised about the story he's telling you.
"Muy loco." He laughs. "But yeah, he did say that in front of the whole dressing room."
"And what Hansi said?"
"He just nodded and left angry, but as you can tell, Ansu is not playing." He pouts. "Ale and I try to tell him off, but he said that he needed to speak with Hansi. The last time he did it was when we won La Super Copa but he says that nothing has changed."
"I think he's just frustrated, I get where he's coming from." You pout, nodding at him. "Want more ice cream?" You ask, scooping some more with your spoon.
"I just hope he knows I'm here for him." He sighs, taking the ice cream you are offering. "That's amazing."
You smile, giving him more of your ice cream. "I'm going to miss you so much, I'm sorry I can't go to the match."
"Madrid will be the worst without you." He pouts, giving you a hug. "But you need to study, that's important."
"I'll be free when you come back as a champion." You say, grabbing his cheeks and pulling him towards you. "You are my champion."
You love moments like this, both of you eating ice cream and having a moment to talk about your days, what happened with your friends, things like that.
"I heard my uncle mention to the other physios that you have been feeling some discomfort while doing gym exercises."
He nods, eating his ice cream. "Sometimes that happens, but don't worry." He half smiles.
"Don't push yourself," you say, giving him a kiss on the head. "Take it slow, Hansi knows you and trusts you."
"It's just so frustrating. People talk about how now I'm just on the bench, but they have no fucking idea how hard is it to come back from a injury where my knee was destroyed."
You nod, grabbing his hands. "I know, pabs." You smile at him. "Don't worry about what people say, Hansi trusts you so much, the team too. So you don't have to feel like this over someone who doesn't know anything about football."
He smiles, hugging you. "I really don't want to go." He whispers. "I'll miss you a lot."
"Me too, but you are going to have fun. Please don't tackle someone during the game." You joke with him, making him laugh.
"You are in love with that boy." Your friend says, watching you smile at the phone.
"Me? Pffft, I'm just smiling at a meme." You say blushing so hard. "By the way, I brought us some strawberries." You smile, taking the fruit out of your picking basket. "I've been craving them so bad that the other day I tried one with mustard. It was so good."
"Mustard?" She asks, already disgusted by the mix. "That's so iugh, and since when do you like mustard?"
"I don't know, but I was craving something, and my I didn't have it, so I had to be creative."
"You are so weird, iugh." She laughs. "I brought some nutella crepes, your favorites."
She opened the container, and when the smell hit you, you let out the biggest gag you ever had. You turn your face to the side, trying to calm down the urge to throw up.
"Are you okay?"
"Joder, perdona." You say, drinking some water. "The smell got me, I don't know why. I been really sensible to some smells, maybe I have a stomach bug."
She narrowed her eyes at you, looking you up and down. "We need to leave, come with me." She says, getting up and picking her things up. You grab your stuff and follow her.
You read the texts he left you a few hours ago. You block your phone again, going back to staring at the ceiling.
You spend a good ten minutes starting at the ceiling. You grab your phone, texting him to come to your place.
He answers quickly, telling you that he'll be there in a few minutes. You get out of bed to go see if your uncle was home or if he was at work.
You check the house, thankful that you are alone. That way it was easier for you to talk with him without having to check if someone was hearing you.
You sit down on the couch, waiting for him to show up. You just stare at nothing, mind in blank for the first time since your friend left.
You hear your phone, it was a text from him telling you that he was outside. You take a deep breath before walking to the door.
"Buenas!" He says, giving you a hug. "I got you your favorite cookies."
"Thanks." You smile, kissing his cheek. You hug him hard, giving him a kiss on his shoulder. "How are you?"
"Good," you whisper, grabbing his hands and pulling him towards the stairs. You wanted to talk to him in your room.
"How was the beach?" He asks you. "I tried calling you, but it was off."
"I know, it was acting weird." You lie, sitting on your bed. "I need to-" You try to say, being interrupted by him.
"You have no idea how fun that trip was. My mom was so sad you weren't there because Aurora and her went out to a museum."
"Yeah, maybe next time." You whisper. "I really need to-"
"And Fermin's girlfriend asked me about you. I told her < oh, she's studying > and also Pedri asked about yo-"
"Pablo!" You call him. "Please, hear me out."
That's the first time he noticed your red Puffy eyes and how nervous you look. He frowns, worried about your state.
"What's wrong? Are you okay? Were you crying?" He asks.
You take a deep breath, trying to calm yourself before speaking. You stay quiet for a while, taking some deep breaths.
"Joder, you are scaring me."
"That day my friend and I went to the beach, I was telling her how I've been sensible to some smells, how I was trying this weird food combinations. She asked me to come with her, and we drove to a pharmac-"
"Are you sick?" He asks, worried about you. "Does anything hurt? Do you need me to get you some medicine? Take to the hospital? The ER."
"I'm not sick, I jus-"
"Was is a stomach bug or something?"
"No, liste-"
"Joder, maybe that food we ate the night before I went to Madrid."
"Pablo!" You groan, he was making you even more nervous. "Liste-"
"We can go to the doctor, want me to call and schedul-"
"I'm pregnant."
It's the way the color of his face dissappear, the way his body paused. How his mouth got shut and his lips are now in a tin line.
He's just looking at you, not saying anything. You can't help but cry, the overwhelming feeling it's consuming you.
"Pablo." You call him tying to get his attention, but his expression didn't change. He was paralyzed.
You try to grab his hand, and that's when he comes back to reality. He moves away from the bed. He doesn't say anything.
He's just standing up in the middle of the room. You don't say anything else, the silence in the room is unbearable.
He turns, grabbing his sweater and walking out of your room. You again don't say anything, hearing the front door being shut.
You throw yourself at the bed, your head hurts from everything that just happened. You grab the covers and cover yourself entirely.

You look at Gavi's post on Instagram, he was active and acting like normal while going no contact with you.
It's been two weeks since the last time you spoke. That was the same night you told him you were pregnant.
You haven't told anybody else, not even your parents and uncle. Only three people knew about it, Gavi, your friend and you.
Your uncle asked if you were okay, noticing how you were all day in your room and became more picky with food.
The reality was that you don't know how to tell him what's going on. Mostly because he's so attached to Gavi, he sees him as his own child.
He became Gavi's safe space during the injury, someone he talked to, someone he cried to, and someone who was there for him.
You don't want to be the responsible one by breaking that bond they created. You don't want to be resented by any of them for making them separate ways.
"Are you sure you are okay?" He asks one more time. "Is it your period? I notice you are kind of pale, or maybe vitamins, I have some there."
Vitamins.
"I think I do need vitamins." You think for a moment, placing your hand on your stomach. "I'll go to the doctor, don't worry."
You take your phone, searching for a good OBGYN in the area. You need to have an ultrasound and maybe even get on prenatal vitamins.
"Eat, please." Your uncle scolds you. "You are becoming very picky with food. The other day I noticed you barely touched your chicken alfredo. That's one of our favorites."
You take one look at the food, feeling nauseous already. You don't want to look suspicious so you take the fork and place the food on your mouth.
"Delicious, right?" He asks.
It took everything in you to not gag in front of him. You take the glass of water, drinking the piece of food.
"Amazing." You smile, feeling your mouth water. "Can I finish this in my room? I have to finish this homework."
"Go on, by the way, I'm going with Balde. He asked me earlier, and I just read his message, so I'll go right now."
You nod, thanking him for the food. You move upstairs quickly, trying to calm down the urge to vomit.
"I'm fucked." You yell into your pillow.
You stayed in your room while your uncle was still home. You wanted to go back to the kitchen to eat something that didn't make you vomit.
When that happens, you check the fridge looking for the strawberries. You grab the box, sadly for you there were only three in there.
You grab your keys and wallet, ready to go to the store and get your food. You grab a sweater before leaving the house.
You open the door just before Gavi knocks on it. You pause for a moment, not knowing what to say.
"Can we talk?" It feels weird to even hear his voic. It's been some time since you hear it. "Where are you going?" He asks.
"To the store." You point to the street. "I'm hungry, and the food my uncle made it's making me nauseous."
He nods, following your lead as you walk to the store that's close to your house. You don't say anything, and neither he does.
He's wearing a hoodie that covers part of his head and face. He's used to going out like that anyway, even if it's at night he will wear glasses and a hoodie.
You pick three packages of strawberries, putting them on your basket. You walk in silence to the condiment aisle, picking a package of mustard.
You know it sounds disgusting, but you crave it so much. You gain a new craving as soon as you see the Brussels sprouts, picking a big jar of them.
You walk around the store, trying to see if you might crave something else. Some products made it to the basket.
Pablo is looking at you from behind, he's judging everything you place on the basket. He's wonders if you are picking random stuff or if you have a plate in mind.
You finally walk to the candy area, picking some sour gummies and some honey candy. You turn to see Gavi, waiting for him to pick something too.
He grabs a bag of his favorite candy, putting the candy on the basket. The silence that you share is less uncomfortable now, but still hold some tension from your side.
You walk to the register, feeling like you are forgetting something. You place everything on the self pay service.
"Ay, mi cereal." You say, remembering what you wanted. "I forgot." You pout.
"I'll go grab it." He says, signaling you to wait for him.
You scan the rest of the items while he's looking for your cereal. When he's back, you scan the products.
You reach for your wallet, taking your card out, but Gavi is quicker and uses his phone to pay for the stuff.
"I was going to pay." You argue, you don't like when he doesn't let you pay for anything. It makes you feel some type of way. "Thank you."
He helps you with the bags, walking back home in silence. You are the one following his lead now.
When you make it home, you go straight to the kitchen, grabbing different bowls. You wash the products that need to be washed and open others to placen them in the bowls.
"Why are you mixing that?"
"I've been throwing up almost everything, I found out that this is somehow tolerable for me, so I try to eat more than just one thing to get full."
He nods, not understanding but not judging... or maybe just a little bit of judgment.
"I thought you weren't coming back." You say, grabbing a fork. "You didn't call or answer any calls. I thought that it was a silent goodbye."
"I wouldn't."
You nod, eating your food while looking at the plate and not at him. You don't know where to begin the conversation about the elephant in the room.
"I-"
"Loo-"
You smile a little, finding funny how you two started at the same time. "You go first." You say.
He sighs, nervous about this whole thing. "Venga, que la he cagado al irme de aquรญ y no haber llamado. I was shocked, I tried to focus on finding the right words, but I don't think I'll find them." (Look, I fucked up by leaving and not call)
"You really scared me." You say to him.
He walks around the counter, arms hugging your body from behind. "I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere. We are doing this together."
You let a sigh, it felt like the weight you were holding inside was finally out of your shoulders.
๐ซง๐ซง๐ซง
"I am terrified of the day we have to tell my uncle, he is going to be so mad."
"Tell me about it. He's going to kill me and break my knee again." He jokes, making you smile. "I'm honestly shitting myself just at the thought of talking to my parents."
"My mom is going to kill me, and my uncle might ask me to leave." You whisper to yourself.
You already ran every possibility in your head. You can't help but feel anxious about every little thing.
"I need to find an OBGYN." You say. "I already google it, but there's like thousands, I don't even know what to do."
He doesn't even know what to do either, he's confused, scared, he can't quite still believe that it's happening.
"Maybe my mom can help you with that." He suggests.
"After today, I think she will hate me."
"Quรฉ va, my mom loves you. She's going to be mad at me, but you'll be fine."
You just nod, sitting on the couch. You two are waiting for Gavi's parents to arrive, they were coming from Sevilla, thinking this was going to be a normal meeting with you two.
You two stay in silence, something that's becoming new between you. Gavi always had something to say, something to share or something to express.
Now it's like you don't even know how to address each other, or maybe it's just the whole situation that makes you feel this way.
You feel your stomach drop when the sound of keys and laughing was heard coming from the front door.
You look at him, the same worried expression he's been carrying for days is there on his face. This time you notice it was even worse.
You two stand up, greeting the Paez when they walk through the door. Belen hugged you, greeting you.
You can't explain why, but when you return the hug, you cling onto her. It's like you needed that hug more than anything.
Maybe it was because your mom wasn't there, maybe because you feel scared, maybe because this news might change everything between you two.
"Oh, love." She giggles. "Are you okay?"
You realize what you are doing, separating and noticing Gavi and his father looking at you with a curious expression.
"Yeah, I just missed you two so much." You giggle, going to hug his dad. "How are you? How was the flight?"
"It was good, very calm." Pablo sir answered. "We are going to leave this in the room and we'll be back."
Pablo waits for his parents to go upstairs, turning to you. He noticed how you hugged his mom.
"Are you okay?"
"Just nervous." You smile, moving to the kitchen to take the food of the containers, placing them on plates.
You hear his parents joining, asking him questions about the training, about the games, the season.
Belen helped you with the plates, asking you about your classes. You give her short answers, trying to avoid her eyes.
When you all sit down, you can tell that Belen knows something is going on. She keeps looking at you and then at Gavi.
You zoned out the majority of the conversation. You're thinking about everything you need to do. Telling his parents is one thing, telling your family, you have classes, you have a lot of responsibilities.
Pablo is also thinking of everything that is about to happen. Maybe his parents won't get mad, maybe they'll be happy and they will congratulate him.
"We have to tell you guys something." He says, interrupting his parents' talk. "It's kind of important."
You can hear your heart on your ears, your hands getting sweaty and your stomach hurting.
Pablo thought what he was going to say, in his mind it was all planned and reharsed, but it wasn't that easy as he picture it.
"Vale, we -"
He's trying to connect the dots, maybe if he starts with a story it will be better. Maybe being straightforward, maybe not.
"I-"
You take the hand he has on his lap. You can't even find some words to help him complete the announcement.
His parents think it's about to be something silly, so they wait for him to say it. Maybe a team is trying to get him signed up, maybe it's about his injury.
"Pero venga, Gavi." His father laughs. "Say it!"
Gavi sighs, there's no way to say this, so he's about to rip the bandaid.
"Y/n's pregnant."
The smile on his father's face is gone, it's now replaced by a frown. His mom is pale, making you remember the moment you told Pablo.
Pablo let go of your hand, he covers his face while groaning. He feels stupid for announcing him so wrong.
"Are you sure about it?" Belen asks. "Have you seen a doctor?" She asks you.
"No, I haven't been to one." You answer, you don't look at her face but at the table. "I did take three pregnancy tests, and all of them were positive."
"Why don't you take her to your doctor?" Pablo sir says, his face is in his hands. "Do you have a plan?" He asks Gavi.
Pablo shrugged, he doesn't even know what to expect. "I haven't really thought about it." He says, making his father angry.
"You haven't thought about it? Pablo, you are so irresponsible. This is not a game strategy or a pass of the ball."
"Joder, I know." He argues.
You place your hand on his arm, trying to get him to shut up and not argue his dad. He looks at you and the back at his dad.
"When did you find out?" Belen asks.
"Three weeks ago."
"Three weeks, Pablo!" His dad argued with him. "You knew about this three weeks ago and didn't tell us."
Belen gets up, walking to your side and grabbing your arms. You let Gavi and his dad argue while she takes you upstairs.
"Don't worry, they sometimes do that." She jokes, trying to make you light up. "I can call my Doctor, she's the one I see when I'm here in Barcelona."
You nod, "Thank you, really." You whisper to her.
She smiles, she fixes your hair while looking at you. "Don't worry, It's okay." She hugs you.
She asks you to sit on the bed while she picks her phone. You can still hear Gavi and his dad talking, sometimes you hear them argue and that worries you.
"Okay, yes." Belen walks back into the room. "Is tomorrow at 10 fine?" She asks.
You nod at her, knowing that even if you were busy, you were going to make the time to go. You excuse yourself, walking to Gavi's room.
You sat on his bed for a while, waiting for the water to calm. You know he is on the second floor because you can hear him talking to his mom.
You can't make up the words they are saying, but by the tone of voice his mother has is obviously not a so nice conversation.
He walks into the room, slamming the door behind him. He joins you in bed, his breathing is very agitated.
"Una mierda, eh?" He chuckles.
You lay in bed, his head next to yours. You turn to look at him, his long lashes look wet, matching with his red eyes.
"Are you okay?" You ask, turning your body to the side to face him better. He does the same, turning his body to face you.
"I just want to sleep, that's all." He smiles, scanning your features. "Are you?"
"I mean, I didn't get yelled at." You smile, making him smile too. "Can you take me home? I think it's better if you have some time alone with your parents."
He nods, getting up from the bed. He stretches his hand to where you are, helping you stand up. You go for a hug, needing it more than ever.
"Let's go." He says, separating and walking to the door. You follow him downstairs, finding Belen sitting on the couch. "I'll be back, I'm dropping her off."
"We have that appointment tomorrow, don't you want to stay here so we can go together?"
You were about to answer, but Pablo did it first. "I can pick her up tomorrow and take you to the doctor."
Belen smiles. "Oh, you are taking us, because you are coming too."
"Pero Ansu and I are going to this event in the morning." He argues.
"Good thing you can call him and cancel. This event is more important." She says while reading her book.
Pablo doesn't say anything, he looks at you for an answer. You shrug, "I can stay." You say, making him nod, turning and going back upstairs.
You wish Belen a good night, going back upstairs. When you enter his room, you see him texting angry on his phone.
"Can I borrow a shirt?" You ask, tapping on his nose. "Sorry about your event, tho." He just nodded, not answering your question. You frown, he's not one to give you a silent treatment. "Pabs, are you okay?"
"Joder, que si." He snaps, looking at you. "Grab the shirt or whatever."
It was the first time he ever snapped at you, the first time he uses his anger towards you when it comes to answering.
You just walk to the closet, not wanting for him to get more mad or snap again. You had some spare clothes there but nothing to sleep on.
You steal one of his oversized shirts, changing inside of the closet. You fold your clothes, not wanting to make a more mess.
You block your phone after setting an alarm, not waiting for Gavi to join you in bed. You just cover yourself with the blankets, wanting to sleep already.
You answer Aurora's text, telling her that you will call her after the appointment and explain everything.
Belen, Gavi and you are in the waiting room. Waiting for your turn to go inside with the doctor.
You hear the nurse call your name, signaling you to follow her. You tap Gavi on the head, making a sign for him to follow you.
The nurse asked you some basic questions before the doctor joined you. You feel weird answering some of the questions in front of Gavi's mother.
When the doctor walked in, she asked you a few more questions. Gavi wasn't really paying attention, he was in another world.
When you lay down to get the ultrasound, you don't know what to do with your hands. You grab the edge of the bed, feeling anxious about the results.
Belen noticed this, she placed her hand on top of yours. It was a reassuring to you, you grab her hand too.
"Okay, look at this." The doctor says, showing you the screen. If you were overthinking your words before, you are now completely speechless.
The doctor was talking, but you can't pay attention to anything she's saying. You are too busy looking at the image of the clear baby on the monitor.
The doctor keeps talking, you just nod. You feel all the emotions at one, it's like the cast of Inside Out.
"Can we hear the heartbeat?" You ask, interrupting the doctor. "Please."
You look over at Pablo, he was paying full attention too. The little drum sound is making your heart feel full in a weird way.
The doctor helps you clean the gel, giving you some pictures of the ultrasound and giving you a prescription for prenatal vitamins and other pills.
Pablo walks over to you, looking again at the pictures on your hand. You look over at him, passing your arms around him. His arm goes around your waist too.
"You need to come back in a month, it's going to be a monthly checking. The only exception is the last month we will have to see you twice that month."
"Let's schedule that." You say to the doctor. You give Gavi a kiss on the cheek. "Let's go, pabs."
When you are done with the whole scheduling thing, Belen, Gavi, and you go back to the car. You needed to be careful because if anybody recognizes Gavi, it was going to be a problem.
You take a picture of the ultrasound, sending it to Aurora. She tells you that she's happy about it.
Gavi dropped you home after that. You need to go to class and finish some projects. You left the pictures on the coffee table next to your phone, going upstairs to pick your things for class.
You grab your backpack and a new sweatshirt. When you walk downstairs, you find your uncle waiting for you.
You curse, noticing what he has on his hands. "Hey." You say, getting close to him. "Didn't see your car when I come in."
He stayed silent, just looking at you with narrowed eyes. You don't know what to say, so you chose to stay quiet.
You waited for him to give you a tongue lash, for him to do something. You stand behind the couch while he's sitting on the other one.
He just sighs, getting up hands you your phone and pictures. He gave you one last look and walked into the kitchen.
You want to leave and let things cool, but you are not even sure if there is anything to cool off. You walk after him, finding him washing some dishes.
"Do you have a plan?" He asks, turning the water off. "Does Gavi knows?"
"He does." You answer just the second question. "Are you not going to yell? Or I don't know, tell me that I'm dumb?"
"Noup," He smiles. "I'm not yelling, I'm not name calling you or anything. I am disappointed, very much, tho."
"I'm sorry." You say to him.
"I'm going to have a sesion with Pablo today." He tells you, grabbing his phone and walking out. "I'll talk to him, but like I said, I won't yell."
You can't even say goodbye because he left so quickly. You know he's mad, but he's trying to control himself as hard as he can.
You text Gavi, letting him know that your uncle knows and that he wants to talk to him. You ask him to let you know what was said.
You can't concentrate on your classes, you check your phone every few seconds to see if Gavi texted you.
Before the class finishes, he texted you that he would pick you up to talk. You are dying to know what was said to him.
You hurry to pick your things, saying goodbye to your friends and walking to the parking lot. "Hey" you smile at him as you open the door. "How was your training?"
Gavi gives you a kiss, saying hi to you. You can tell he's off. You want to ask, but you don't know if he might react like he did in his room.
"It was good, my team won." He says, no emotion on his face. "I also had recovery, but not with your uncle."
"Why?"
"He asked not to be my physio anymore." He shrugs. "He told me that for now, it's better for me to be with someone else." He pouts.
"Did he say something else?" You ask, wondering why that drastic decision.
"He just congratulated me."
You understood the reason, he wanted to punish Gavi by leaving him to the side. Even when Gavi can go with anybody because he's not following a routine.
He wanted Gavi to feel the anger he felt by giving him the cold shoulder. Thing that you know will affect Gavi more than he cares to admit.
You can tell he's mad by the way he's holding the wheel, by the way his breathing is heavy and the fact that he's quiet.
"I can talk to him if you want." You say, trying to find a way to fix this. "I'm sure he will hear me."
"No, que va." He chuckles. "He doesn't want to see me, ni en pintura eh."
"He's mad at me, and he's taking it on you."
"Vale, pues de puta madre entonces." (Okay, fucking fine then)
"Gavi, don't be like this. I'm telling you that I'll try to fix it."
"How am I being? I'm just saying that vale, de puta madre that this is happening."
"Si, si, vale, vale." You say, trying to stop the disagreement. "Can you drop me home?"
You roll your eyes at him, he's been more moody than before. You sometimes want to carry a spray bottle and spray him to calm him down.
The drive is silent, you don't like to feel this tense. He's quiet, the only sound is the music he's playing on the car.
When he drops you home, you turn to look at him. He's not moving his head from the road. You just sigh, getting off.
"I'll try to talk to him." You say before closing the door. "I'm so-"
"Can you close the door? The air-conditioned is getting off." You feel a big anger, looking at him for a few seconds. "Y/n, close the door."
You smile, opening the door a little bit more. You then pushed the door closed so hard you feel the whole car shaking.
You walk back inside your house, you slam the front door too. Mad at everything you have in front of you.
Your uncle, who was home already, walked out of the kitchen. "Don't slam my door." He says pointing at you.
"I'll slam whatever I want." You say to him, walking upstairs.
You hit the trifecta by slamming the door of your room. You got into bed mad, wanting to sleep and woke up with everything fixed.

You and Pablo were sitting down on the couch. You were listening to Belen talking about all the things you need to start buying.
"Do we really need to prepare a room?" Pablo asks, confused with all the information. "If it's going to sleep with her for like a year."
"It's not an it." Aurora says to him, throwing a pop corn at him. "Also, are you expecting her to have her own room or something? Or why is the baby going to sleep only with her?"
"No, you guys will need to help each other as much as I can." Belen says. "I know that's going to be a lot for you Pablo, we all know how much you love your sleep."
"Vale, we need two of everything then." He says to you. "One for your house and one for here."
"Two cribs? That's a lot." You say, thinking of where you are going to place it. "Maybe that can stay here."
Belen and Aurora look at each other and then at you. Belen sighs, she wants to laugh but she won't.
"Vale, I'm going to have to explain a lot more than I thought." She whispers to Aurora. "You won't need two of everything. Once you move in, you need to set up a room where the baby is going to be. The baby might not sleep there for a few months, or maybe you want the baby to sleep there right away, depens on you, but you need to set up a space where you can have the clothes, the diapers, the things you'll get."
You nod, understanding better now. You talked with Pablo about what to keep at your place and what to keep at his place.
But now that you think about it, it does sound so dumb. You don't need two places, you need one for him, the baby and you.
"You haven't thought about that?" Aurora asks.
"Perdona, about what?" You ask, going back to reality.
"Names, any name you like?"
You think for a moment, you have some names since you were a little girl. You also tried to think if maybe you could combine a family name with another name, but you didn't like it.
"Like if it's a girl, do you have anything in mind?" Belen asks.
"I like Martina." You say, smiling. "It's the girl version of your middle name."
"I like Pablo." He says. You try not to make a face, but it's hard. "What?"
"Nothing," you lift your hands. "It's just that your father is Pablo Paez, you are Pablo Paez, do we really need a third?"
"Joder, vale." He thinks for a moment. "Samuel."
"Oh, I like Samuel." Aurora says. "If you are taking suggestions, I like Mauro."
"I like Mauro too." Pablo says, smiling. "Martina is cute." He says,
"Pamela." Belen says, thinking about names. "That's a cute name."
You let them continue the conversation, you take a look at your notebook. Thinking about all the things you need to buy.
You move upstairs, checking the room that's next to Pablo's room. It was a game room for him now, but it was the only available room that he had.
You close the door, turning to his room. You are examing it, you will need to get rid of the chair he has. He loves that chair, he uses it to watch movies.
"What are you doing here?"
"Just thinking." You say, turning your head to him.
"Want to help me pack for Germany?" He asks, smiling. You nod, giving him a hug while you walk to the closet.
๐ซง๐ซง๐ซง
"Look at this." You show to Aurora over FaceTime. It was a cute baby shirt with some fish over it. "So cute."
"When are going to know what it is?"
"This Friday, I'm so excited about it." You smile, placing a hand over your tummy.
"I want to ask, are you planning on finding out that day, or are you willing to let me throw you a gender reveal?"
You smile at her, "I would love that, but you know your brother won't be on board with that." You pout.
"I knew you would say that." She laughs. "So I think a good alternative that's 'Gavi safe', I can get some cupcakes, the filling on the inside will be the blue for boy or pink for girl."
"That's so smart, yes! I'll ask the doctor to send you the result."
"Let's hope Pablo doesn't ask the doctor to know the gender."
Your expression then changes, Pablo has told you that he won't be able to make it due to his practice time.
"He can't come, he's going to be practicing." You pout. "But now I won't have to find out alone, we can find out at the same time."
Aurora frowns. "He's not going?"
"He has practice, and I get it. I mean, he's been having long practices these past few days. With the game against Real Madrid, they want to win."
"Okay, I'll wait for the results, and I'll have the cupcakes delivered to you guys. Oh my Gosh, I'm so excited."
You continue with the shopping, talking with Aurora. You were picking stuff for the house as you walked.
When you return home, you find him sitting on the couch. "Hey, Pabs." You say, messing his hair. "I got you the chips you wanted." You say, waving the bag in your hands.
"Gracias." He says. "Sit down with me, I haven't seen you all day."
You nod, leaving quickly the things in the kitchen. You walk over to the couch, hugging Gavi.
"How was your day?" You ask him, giving him a kiss. "You smell so good."
"It's my new perfume." He lifts his eyebrows while smiling. "Do you like it?" He asks, kissing your cheek.
"Me encanta."
"If we have a boy, I'll get him a mini version of my perfumes. That way when we take him to the doctor, he'll make the nurse fall in love."
You smile, loving when he makes those little comments. "What if we have a girl?" You ask.
"We can get her the mini version of yours, but I'm sure she will love your bags. Either way she's going to have to love football as much as I do."
You grab his face to give him a kiss. "I'm sure the baby is going to grow loving football just like you, Pabs."

"Y/n, are you here?" Pablo shouts, closing the entrance door of the house.
He walls inside, calling your name again. He goes to the kitchen after the third time.
He finds two cupcakes sitting down on the kitchen counter. He grabs one and starts eating it. He sits on the couch while looking at tik tok.
You walk back inside the kitchen half an hour later, finding him still on the couch. "Hola, guapo." You say, leaving your bag on the couch. "Hey why is your mouth blue?" You ask him.
"Hola." He says, smiling at you. "Is it? I don't know. I ate one of the cupcakes that were on the counter, maybe it's that."
Your heart jumps. "No!" You say, covering your mouth.
Pablo doesn't understand your reaction. You are jumping with a smile on your face. "Joder, I'm so confused right now."
"Pablo!" You say like it's obvious. "That cupcake was supposed to tell us the gender of our baby. It's a boy!" You throw yourself on his arms, hiding your head on his neck.
He doesn't know how to react. He's happy, that's for sure, but he's not sure if he should cry, maybe yell, or just stay quiet.
"I'm so happy." You say, still crying a little. "We need to call your parents and my mom."
You don't notice how he's a little dissociated from reality, you don't notice how he's barely even speaking or how he's not even smiling.
His parents do, they don't say anything, but they do notice this. They blame it on being tired or maybe being shocked.
You just notice how quiet he is until you are with him in his room. You look at him for a moment, wondering if maybe he's feeling bad or if something happened.
"Gavi." You call him, making him turn to you. "Are you okay?"
"Si, just thinking." He smiles, moving the blankets from your side. "Come to bed."
๐ซง๐ซง๐ซง
"Mira," He calls your attention. "It's a crab." He smiles, showing you the plushie.
You smile at him, turning back your attention to the sales lady.
"I think this one will work for you. It's longer than the standard, and it has wheels. I'm sure you are going to use it for longer than the instructed time."
You were looking for a co sleep bed to go next to your bed. You took Pablo for him to give his opinion, but he was too busy picking plushies for the baby room.
"Do you have that one in black?"
"We do. Would you like me to add it to the bill?" She smiles.
"Si, gracias." You smile back, walking over to Gavi. "We just need to pick some clothes, and that's it."
"We can get him some matching shirts to match with me." He smiles, picking another plushy. "It's a dinosaur."
You feel tired today, maybe it's the baby not letting you sleep properly, maybe it's your clothes that feel uncomfortable, maybe it's him not taking this serious.
"Okay, let's go to the clothing area." You grab his hand, pulling him towards the end of the store.
You grab another basket, handing it to him. "Look, this has iron man on it." He smiles. "Let's take it."
"Pablo, that's for an older child."
"He's going to grow, right?"
You sigh, not wanting to pick another fight with him. "Yes, he's growing. Take whatever you want." You walk away from him, to the right section of the clothing area.
You have been having some fights with Gavi, it wasn't as easy as people say. He has been very uninterested with everything, picking fights with you.
You sometimes feel like you are doing this all alone, picking the crib, researching information, taking this seriously.
Especially after he came back with the National Team. You feel like you are walking on eggshells around him. You thought it was just something to do with them losing or maybe it was because he's frustrated.
Yet the whole time he was on vacations he had this long face that made you feel frustrated. You try talking to him, try to give him space, and try to make him know you are there for him.
However, nothing worked. He was in his own world while you were trying to make sure you have everything you need to prepare yourself for the baby arrival.
Now that he is playing again, he's been in a better mood. Training definitely helps him, and it makes him more relaxed.
"Look at this." He shows you a baby shirt that matches one he has on his closet. "We can get you one and match."
You were about to answer when you feel a Braxton Hick, making you whine in pain. You've been experiencing them and they hurt like hell.
"You okay?"
You take a few breaths, grabbing his arm to stay steady. "Si, just give me a minute."
You give him a hug, trying to calm down your breathing like the doctor taught you to do. He tries to help, imitating your breathing as you go.
"What are you doing?" You ask, separating once the pain stops.
"Following your breathing." He answers, worried about you. "Are you better now?"
You nod, going back to the hug. You haven't felt this close to him in a while. You miss it so much and you really hope for it to change.
"Want to go home? I think we have enough."
"Yeah, enough plushies and enough three year old shirts." You joke, grabbing the shirt on his hands. "We need onesies, we need those small pairs of socks, we need something that fit our baby."
"Wait, how big is the baby going to be?"
You chuckle, you can't even be mad. "I can assure you it's not going to be big enough for him to wear this."
"Vale, pero, is it going to be small then?"
You grab the shirt he has and pick a newborn size onesie to compare. You hold both in front of him so he sees the difference.
"Joder, this small?"
He grabs the onesie, holding it to observe it. He can't believe babies can be this small. He thought babies were somehow bigger and that maybe his mom was joking saying that they need too much care.
You two continue with buying this you needed for another hour or so. Enough time to check more things you needed out of the list.
Pablo needed to go to training. He has a very busy weekend, specially since tomorrow is a big day for the team.
Vacation is over, and he needs to get in shape to get back to being on the first eleven list and not on the bench anymore.
He knows it's a slow process, so he's doing everything he can to re gain the trust of the culers and the trust of the team.
He has the team on his side, that was for sure. However, he feels like he needs for them to not only say it but to show it.
The sales lady tells you that she will send the bassinet, crib, the dresser and everything to your house.
You thank her, grabbing the bags of clothing and plushies. Thanks to Pablo there were more bags than ever.
After leaving you at home and helping you with the bags, he leaves for training. He gives you a kiss goodbye before exiting the door.
During training, not everyone in the team knows he's going to be a dad. The only ones are his closest friends.
He told Ansu, Balde and Lamine once during an after training reunion. He did it cause he didn't know exactly what to feel.
But he definitely knows other players know, they just don't say anything to him. He knows Ferran knows because Pedri and Fermin went to visit him when he was down.
When they entered his house, they found some baby things. They didn't really think it was his, maybe a little cousin or something. Pablo told them because he thought they knew, so now they know.
He knows that Eric knows because Ferran knows, and that's because Pedri knows. He knows that Casado knows because Hector knows because Lamine knows.
He told Hansi, he needed to know. He was going to need a day off or maybe two. He doesn't know that Hansi talked about it with the technical team.
When he did, Ter Stegen heard, and if he knows, then Lewandowski knows, meaning that if Lewandowski knows that means Frenkie knows, and also Christensen.
He's just waiting for them to either say it, and they are waiting for him to say it. It was a never-ending circle they created.
Obviously, Ferran was going to be the one to break it.
"Ey, Gavi." He calls him, making him turn. "I have something for you."
Pedri and Eric look from their cars. Pedri is nervous, he think that Gavi is going to be furious, but Ferran thinks it will be cute to give something to him.
"I heard the news," Ferran grabs the bag from his passenger seat. "I think you'll like it. Say hi to your girlfriend for me, and congratulations, hermano."
Gavi takes the bag with a frown. He opens the bag finding a cute barca baby jersey with his number on it.
Ferran is ready for any reaction, he honestly doesn't care about it. He wants to do something nice for Gavi, however he takes it it's on him.
"Gracias, hermano." Gavi smiles, giving Ferran a hug. "I'll show this to her as soon as I get home."
"We need to do a party for you." Ferran laughs, always being the one planning events. "Something light, we all can give you a gift. Not me cause I just did, but the rest can."
"No, que va." Gavi chuckles. "Thanks for this, but I'm keeping it quiet while it lasts."
"Vale, if you change your mind, tell me."
Gavi hugs Ferran goodbye. He texts you that he will go with Ansu before going home. He needed to talk about some things.
Ansu, Balde and Lamine welcome him with a perfect idea. They were all going to S'Agarรณ in Costa Brava.
They wanted to invite Gavi to go. It will take place during the free day Hansi mentioned they have.
"I don't think my parents are going to be happy about it. They are coming home, so my dad and I can build the crib."
"Joder, I keep forgetting you soon will be changing diapers." Balde says.
"Going to smell like baby cream and shit." Lamine laughs.
Gavi doesn't laugh with them, he's just frowning. "Vale, callaos' ya."
"Let's go, just tell your girlfriend you will take a trip to go to an event and that's it."
"Vaya mierda con ustedes," Gavi sighs. "If I say yes are going to stop?"
"Sip." Lamine says.
"Vale, I'll tell my parents to come later because I'll need to go to an event."
"Venga! That's the Gavi I know." Lamine yells, giving him a hug.
Gavi spends some time with them, wanting to decompress from the training and from the long day he had.
After they joked, after they played some fifa, he went back home with you. He grabs the gift Ferran gave him, wanting to show it to you.
"Guapa!" He calls once he's inside. "Where are you?"
"Upstairs." You shout from upstairs.
"I got something to show you." He walks upstairs to where you are. He finds you ordering some of the clothes you got earlier. "Here, from Ferran."
You grab the bag, finding a Gavi jersey. "This is so cute." You smile, looking at the cute jersey. "Ferran gave this to you?"
"He did, Pedri told him about the baby, and he gave us this."
"His first jersey!" You pout, placing it on your tummy. "Oh, me encanta. Say thank you for me, please."
"Will do." He smiles, opening the bag of plushies and taking them out.
"Are you nervous about tomorrow's game? You are going to start with the Espanyol."
"Quรฉ va, me los como con patatas." He smirks. (Not at all, I will beat them up)
You stretch your arm, handing out your hand for him to take it. You squish it, making him know that you are there for him.
"Oye, flick is going to give us the Thursday off because some of the media team want to film some content with a select group of players for the Barca One app. Instead, we will go to an event, I'll text my parents for them not to come until next week."
"Perate, this Thursday?"
"Si, I'll be gone all day probably."
"We have a doctors appointment this Thursday."
He hummed, not really interested in it. "Vale, but this is an event."
"And this is our kid."
He rolls his eyes, leaving the plushies on a small pile next to the clothes. He gets up from the floor, not wanting to talk about it.
"Pablo!"
"You don't need me for it." He says before leaving the room.
You stand up, already tired of the nonsense he's talking about. You have put up with too much of him acting like you are the only responsible one.
"I do need you there." You say, grabbing his arm. "I want you there!"
"It doesn't matter, you can go alone. I have this event." He moves his arm away from you. "It's just a regular appointment."
"Pablo, this is the third time you miss it. All I'm asking is you to be there, please."
You don't believe yourself, you are begging him to be there. You feel your dignity getting lost in the process of doing so.
"I already confirmed." He shrugs, paying attention to the phone. "And don't be dramatic, you can go alone."
You stand there alone, feeling a burning sensation in your tummy. Mostly because you are trying not to yell at him, but the anger is there.
"Do you need something?" He asks, a very evil tone.
You throw the baby jersey at his face, not thinking twice about it. You walk back to the baby room, slamming the door shut.
"Fucking idiot." You whisper, seating on the recliner you have there. The only piece of the baby room that you have. "Are you as mad as I am?" You ask your baby, getting a kick in response. "I know, but don't worry, my love. Hopefully, you get the intelligence of mami."
You like to speak to your belly, it's something people say it's good to do. You like to feel the kicks because that means he is answering.
"We don't need him, anyways." You say, more to yourself, wiping the tear that's rolling on your cheek. "We are going to have a blast after the appointment, I promise we are getting a chocolate milkshake."
You block your phone, trying to ignore the article. It was everywhere around the culers. You feel sad that he would prefer to go with his friends than to be here with you.
The appointment doesn't go well, you are too distracted. You feel bad that you let this get in the way of what really matters, your baby.
You don't want to see anybody, but with the wonderful luck you are carrying, Pablo's family came as a surprise.
They wanted to help you with the room even when Pablo was at "an event". Pablo's father and Javi helped you with the crib, the dresser, and the co-sleeping bassinet.
You were thankful to them, they hace been the only real support you have got during this time. You feel sad that Pablo prefers to be with his friends instead of you.
"Are you okay?" Auror asks, noticing your sad eyes and quiet mood.
You don't want to say anything, what for? For his parents to be mad at him? It's not worth the trouble.
"I get tired easily." You say. "Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it."
"I know about Pablo." She whispers, not wanting her parents to know about it. "Javi showed me."
You did your best all day with not letting your hormones betray you, but as soon as Aurora mentioned that, it's like a big wave of everything.
Aurora moves next to you, embracing you in her arms. You needed that hug, you needed the cry that's happening right now.
You have been hiding your feelings, trying to excuse his behavior for the sake of peace. You have crossed all the lines you promise yourself to never cross.
"I'm so tired." You sob, trying to catch your breath. "I have done everything, Aurora. Everything. I understand that he's still adapting to the news, I understand that we are young and that Everything it's going to change, but I can't understand why he prefers to be out there with his friends and not with me."
"He's just dumb." Aurora says, wiping your tears. "He's a boy, he doesn't understand what.ypu are going through."
"It's like he doesn't care, and it makes me feel so stupid."
"Don't, this is his fault, nothing to do with you."
"I have had four doctors' appointments, four." You say, showing her four fingers. "And he only came to the first one because your mom made him come. I feel so alone doing this."
"You are not. We are here, and even if Pablo is not, we are."
You hug her again, trying to calm your cries. You know this is not good for the baby, but you need it so bad.
"I have an idea. What if we go get an ice cream? You love ice cream."
You feel a kick, laughing a little. "He says yes." You smile.
You wash your face and take a few deep breaths before going downstairs with the rest of them. You see Gavi's parents checking some instructions for something they have to build.
"Oh, honey." Belen says, noticing your puffy eyes. "Are you okay?"
"She was just crying about the little clothes." Aurora says, trying to save you from answering. "We were talking about the out of the hospital change she needs to take with her for the baby."
"Oh, honey." She laughs, giving you a hug. "I cried when I packed Aurora's, so I understand."
You thank Aurora when you two are alone. She knows you don't want to make this into something bigger.
She knows you try your best to keep quiet, even when you don't say it, she can tell it. Javi has notice too, but he doesn't want to argue or create a problem.
Aurora convinced her parents to go to a restaurant after you asked her to do so. You needed to talk to Pablo in private, and you know you can't do that if his parents are here.
When he walks in, a nice tan, a toasted hair, he walks inside with this happy face. You are in bed, reading some magazine.
He walks over to you, he murmurs a hi. He pulls your shirt up, his hand goes to your bump. He does this thing where he taps his finger on your bump, waiting for the baby to kick where he taps.
When he gets the reaction that he wants, he smiles, giving your bump a kiss. "Hola, amor." He whispers to your bump.
You want not to be mad, you want to smile at how cute he looks doing that. If only, you think.
He tries to give you a kiss, but you turn your face. He frowns, not understanding why you did that.
"What's wrong?"
You look at him, checking him out. "How was your event?"
"Buen, nothing too fancy."
You nod, leaving your magazine on the nightstand. "Where was the event, again?"
"San Felรญu, not too far."
You humm. "Was the event outside? You look tanned."
"Yeah, it was a good time."
"Yeah, I'm sure about it." You smile at him. "I know you had a good time. Especially in S'Agarรณ, on that yatch."
He doesn't say anything, his blank expression is comical to you. You are someone who loves his very expressive face, and seeing him so expressionless is funny.
"By the way, your parents are home, well not right now, they are out. The nursery is done, we have everything ready.
"I-"
"The baby is fine, the doctor says he's growing. We are going to talk about the birth plan on the next appointment." You interrupt him, not wanting to hear him.
"Listen,-"
"But don't worry." You interrupt him again. "I won't bother you again with coming to the remaining appointments. Like you say, I can go alone."
He sighs, nervous that you know everything. Nervous that you are telling him everything so direct and with this cold tone of voice.
"Amor, listen."
"I'm tired, Gavi." You confess. "I'm also done."
"Done with what?" He asks. "Amor, please, listen to me."
"I'm tired, Pablo." You say, moving the covers up your body and turning the light of the nightstand off. "Go shower."
"I fucked up when I lied yes, but don't be like this."
"Go shower." You repeat, turning to the other side.
"No!" He says, turning the lights on. "We need to talk."
"Oh, so now you want to talk." You laugh. "Well, I don't. So good night, Gavi."
He grabs the covers, pulling them off the bed. "We are talking."
You don't say anything, you just grab your pillow and your phone. Walking out of the room to the baby's room.
"A donde mierda vas?" He yells, walking behind you. (Where the fuck are you going)
"Away from you, imbecil." You yell back at him, trying to close the door, but he's stronger than you. "Go away, you psyco."
You don't hear the door that indicates that his family is back from the restaurant. When they hear the commotion upstairs, they all get worried.
"Vale, si, I lied." He continues to yell. "Why does it matter?"
You throw the pillow at him. "Eres bobo?" You ask, face probably red. "You left me alone for the third time, you have no idea how everybody looks at me with pity. Like I'm some-"
"What is going on in here." Belen asks, walking with his father. "Why are you too yelling."
"It's nothing." Gavi says, taking a deep breath.
"Nothing?" You whisper, scuffing at him. "Sure."
"Can you shut up?" He asks, turning back to you.
"No, I-" You feel very strong kick, making you stop arguing. You grab your bump, taking a deep breath.
Gavi's expression changes, his anger is now gone. "Y/n? He tries to get closer.
Gavi feels a hand grabbing his arm. It was his dad pulling him out of the room. He turns to you, still trying to calm down.
"What is wrong with you?" His father asks, closing the door. "Are you out of your mind?"
"Joder, I didn't start this fight."
His mother joins them after a moment. "She's fine." She says to his father. "What in the world is wrong with you?"
"Ah vale, I'm the bad one here."
"Pablo, don't act innocent." His mom says, tired already of his stupid games.
She doesn't know exactly what goes inside of his head, if he ever feels bad about what he's doing, if maybe he thinks that this is right because someone told him too.
"You haven't been to three appointments." She reminds him, something he feels everybody wants to do these days. "Pablo, this is not a game. You are about to have a kid."
"Pero vale, I don't feel like I need to change my life if the baby isn't here. I can figure it out once it's here."
His parents look at each other, disappointment is the only feeling they have.
"You need to stop this, Pablo." His father sighs. "You act as if this is a joke, you really need to understand that you are no longer going to hace the freedom."
"But why?"
"I'm not doing this tonight." He says, walking out of that room.
"Pablo, valora a esa niรฑa." She says before leaving the room. "You are going to regret this if you don't." (Value this girl)
๐ซง๐ซง๐ซง
"Want more bacon?" You uncle asks you, placing the plate full of bacon in front of you.
"This is the best breakfast ever, I never had that many bacon in my life."
He laughs, giving your head a kiss. "How's Gavi? Is he treating you well?"
"Yeah, we are fine."
No, you are not. He's been sleeping in the guest room since the last fight you had. You two barely speak to each other.
"I've seen him during some recovery sessions, we talked a little."
You feel bad about putting a distance between Pablo and your uncle. He loves Gavi as his own child, even when he doesn't have one yet. It was obvious Gavi felt hurt that he took his distance.
"That's amazing, you two really needed that."
"Yeah, how's the baby?"
"Oh, he's amazing. The doctor says he's growing."
"Do you have a name?"
"Not yet."
False, you do have a name YOU like, but Gavi has a name that HE likes. So you are in between names.
"Crazy, I helped your mom pick your name like two hours before you were born."
"I know, you tell me that once a year minimum."
"Love that story." He smiles, thinking about it. "I'll tell that to your baby as soon as I meet him."
You laugh, missing the morning talks with him before going to college or when you had a free day.
"You should crash over some nights, we can watch the new season of love island."
"I love that idea, I really miss coming here, being in my room, talking to you."
You do miss this, the calmness of home, how you don't feel the uncomfortable silence when a fight happens.
You don't say it out loud to anybody, not even to your closest friend, but you regret agreeing to live with him.
You regret letting his family get so involved to the point that his relationship with his parents is fractured.
You feel like you have a little bit of blame, you are the one who let them in and who told them the things that made them fight.
You come from a broken family, your parents never really got along after a few years of marriage.
You grew up in between fights and yelling. You don't want that for your baby. You always craved the need of a family.
You wanted to be able to have a loving and caring family that makes your son feel secure and loved.
That's something that keeps you up all night. You don't know if things are going to change between Gavi and you.
His mother says he's going to change, that boys change as soon as they have the baby on their arms.
When you go back home, you find him eating cereal as dinner. You find it funny how he never thinks about a sandwich or something else.
You hate how cold his house feels, and you are not talking about temperature, but how cold it feels between you two.
"Do you want me yo make you something for dinner?" You ask him.
You know that one of you needs to give the first step. You are okay with doing it, if that gives you the peace you need to.
"Por favor." He says, looking at his plate. "Thank you."
You walk over to him, giving his head a kiss. "Do you want pasta?"
He nods, smiling at you. You mess his hair, moving to the kitchen to prepare something for him.
You serve the food in two plates, one for him and one for you. You place the plate in front of him.
You eat in silence, thing that you can't stand. It was like torture, you have him in front of you, yet you feel him so far away.
"How was your day?"
"Good, I score two goals, and my team won." He smiles, remembering how good training was. "You?"
"I visited my uncle, finished a project, and had a nap. It was good."
"I want a nap." He pouts. "Pedri says hi, he sent us a gift."
You smile, you like Pedri a lot. He was nice with you, same with Fermin and Ferran. They were some of Gavi's friends who happened to like you.
You are not sure about other players or friends of him. You sometimes think his now group is not so fond of you.
"Gavi, I really want this to work." You finally say, tired of the small talk. "I want us to work so we can give our son the family he deserves. We are young, yes, but I think if we both put a little effort, we can make this work."
Gavi nods, he want this to work too. He needed this to work, he doesn't want to be the absent dad or just be the useless partner.
He extends his arms, opening his hands for you to take them. "I want this to work too. Joder, es lo que mรกs quiero."
"Let's just start to be better at communicating. We used to be able to tell each other when something wasn't right and if something was bothering us."
"I'm sorry, la he cagado and I can't excuse myself. I'm also sorry I yelled at you."
"I'm sorry I threw the jersey Ferran gifted us on the face."
"Eso me ha dolido como la mierda eh." He laughs (that hurted so fucking bad)
You got up, walking over to the other side of the table. You sit on his lap, arms around him as you kiss his cheek.
"Even if you make my head hurt, I love you."
"Ah, vale." He laughs. "Me too, I love you."
"I also ate all the cookies this morning." You confess.
"I know, I heard you."
๐ซง๐ซง๐ซง
"Mira." Gavi says, showing you a book. "I got Pablito Jr this."
"You are Pablito Jr." You hit him on the head. "What's this about?"
"It's Pedri's book." He says, showing it to you. "Also, I'm not a junior."
"In my eyes, you are." You smile while reading the book. "This is so cute! Amor, papi got you a book. Sadly, I'm the only one who can read it to you because he didn't finish school."
Gavi is offended. "I finished school, with very good grades." He says, frowing and taking the book from your hands. "Want me to read it to you?"
"It's okay, Gavi." You say, placing your hand on his shoulders. "Junior and I know about your impediment."
"He's not Junior." He says, mad expression on his face.
You love teasing Gavi, he gets angry so easily. He stays with a frown for hours before finding the situation funny.
"I don't want to read it anymore." He says, handing you the book.
You laugh, earing a side eye from him. "Vale, vale, I'm sorry." You say, trying to catch your breath. "You get so mad, it's funny."
He leans over, cheek sticked to your belly. "Do you think that, Junior?"
You smile at the nickname, it was funny teasing him with the name he wants. You feel a kick, Gavi felt it too.
"Junior says yes." You whisper, combing his hair.
You stayed quiet, enjoying the light music you are playing. Gavi was humming the lyrics, making figures on your belly.
"We are not calling him Junior." He whispers.
You chuckle, "I want the baby to have your eyes." You whisper, thinning about what the baby would look like. "Also maybe your hair, I like your hair so much."
"You hear that Junior? She wants you to look like papi." He smiles proudly.
You roll your eyes, really enjoying how much the things have changed. You have worked on yourselves, you have worked on being honest to each other.
His parents noticed that too, he was different. He was interes in everything, learning slowly things he was going to be doing.
Belen taught you to change a diaper on a doll, Pablo somehow didn't sucked. He also learned that talking to the baby was something he was supposed to do.
As soon as he walks to the door, he starts talking to your belly. Telling him all the things that happened in training, during the match.
He even asked one of his cousins who has a baby to teach him how to hold a baby. You know he has done things you thought he would never.
He told the team the news, not wanting for it to feel like a secret, but as something normal. They all congratulate him, Ferran, Raphinha and Taia prepared you two a team baby shower.
You thank them for being so nice to you. Taia offered herself to help you with advice she would've loved to have, in her own words.
Gavi has mature into the situation. If you are someone close to him, you can notice the change. How even his way of speaking is different.
"Are you going to miss me?" He asks, walking over to you. "I'm going to miss you."
"I'll miss yo-"
"Y/n, can you excuse us?" He jokes with you. "This is a private conversation."
"Oh." You open your mouth. "Okay, Junior, and you can have your moment, don't mind me."
He looks up at you, pretending to sleep. He likes that you two can joke like the old times.
"Don't listen to mami, your name is not Junior." He says, placing a kiss to your skin. "Take care of mami, okay? I need you to be good with her, chaval. Don't keep her up that much because if you do, then she's mean to me."
"That's not true." You say to him.
"She's also nosy, you are going to learn about it in a few years, but she also makes the best pasta ever. Sadly, you have been fed with pickles and marshmallows."
You open your eyes, looking at him speak attentive to the words he's saying. You like to hear him talking.
"I'll miss you." He repeats, feeling the baby kick you. "I know, I promise I'll be back as soon as I can so we can be together."
You pout, not wanting to cry. The hormones don't help you, you let a few tears out but quickly whipping them.
"Let's sleep because tomorrow you need to catch a flight."

You are sitting on the rocking chair, eating some popcorn as you read Pedri's book to the baby. You feel your phone vibrate next to you.
"It's papi." You say, pocking your belly. "Hola, guapo."
"Hola, how are you two?"
Gavi has been gone for a whole week, he had a game against Atletico de Madrid for the champions league and a La Liga game against Real madrid.
They got tied up against Atletico but won against Real Madrid. Gavi scored a goal, the culers were crazy about it. Wanting Gavi to return as strong as possible now that he's a starter again.
"We are reading," you smile, placing the small book down. "Are you on your way to the airport?"
"Actually, I want to tell you something." He nervously says.
"What is it?"
"Hansi gave us a few days off, and Ansu planned this mini trip as my last trip before the baby."
You frown, "Wait, you told me you were coming back as soon as the games were over."
"Ya se, but it's one last trip."
"Pablo, we are two weeks away from the due date." You remind him, thinking maybe he forgot about it.
"Nothing is going to happen, I'll be there in three day-"
"Three days?" You interrupt him, finishing the sentence as a question. "I'm not okay with this."
"You don't have to be, I am." He scuffs, closing his suitcase. "I'll be back in Three days, no big deal."
"Gavi."
"Y/n, why are you complaining?" He asks, tone becoming dirty. "You are so hormonal, you don't like anything, and you feel like you are entitled to boss people around."
You weren't mad, you got mad right now. Hearing him talking to you as if you are a kid who's bratty.
"Oh, sorry." You sarcastically say. "Maybe if you wouldn't have got me pregnant, we would be having a much more mature and not hormonal conversation."
"Well, maybe I shouldn't have." He whispers, but you heard.
You feel a pain in your heart, gasping at his words. You hung up the call, not believing he would say anything like that.
๐ซง๐ซง๐ซง
"Gavi, your phone is ringing." Ferran says, tapping Gavi's shoulder.
He turns, looking at your name being displayed on the screen. "Let it ring."
"But isn't her like..." Ferran pauses, trying to think on the right words. "Really pregnant?"
"Yeah, but she's fine." He says, shruging.
Ferran looked at him and then at the phone one last time. He does what Gavi is saying, he thinks Gavi knows what he is doing.
You hear his voice on the voice mailbox, hanging the call again. It's been two days since the last time you two talked.
You feel bad. Maybe you overreacted. Maybe you were too hormonal. It's just a trip, and like he said, nothing is going to happen.
You lay in bed, feeling like you did a few weeks ago. Hopeless and sad, the silence was there again, the tension, the miscommunication.
You can't forget Gavi's words, he really hurt you. You never thought that he had those thoughts.
The baby kicks make you tear even more. He can feel what you feel. He can sense your stress and your anxiety. He knows even if he doesn't know.
You turn the TV off, turning to the side. You try to sleep the feelings away. It has helped you in the past, so it can help now.
What you didn't expect was the pain that woke you. Feeling the worst pain you ever felt, it was like someone was trying to stretch you in two.
You know that pain, they were contractions. You look at the clock on your phone, paying attention to the time so you can track them.
You open your phone, dialing Aurora. There was no use on calling Gavi, he was either still somewhere in Ibiza or on a plane back.
The third time your call goes to voice mail, you yell. Feeling the pain again, you have to be quick and get to the hospital.
You call your uncle, but to your bad luck, he was at a party. He was unable to hear his phone. You curse under your breath.
You call the last person you can think of, hoping that you can get the help you need.
"Hello?"
She sighs in relief, forgetting for a second the pain.
"Fermin!"
๐ซง๐ซง๐ซง
Your mind is blank.
Your eyer are sticked on the ceiling. Thinking about everything that just happened. You have a pen in hand, trying to think of the address to write on the paper.
You don't even know what name to write on the birth certificate. You thought that Pablo and you were going to talk about before this.
Fermin was outside of the room, he stayed there for you. He wanted to give you some privacy. Also, he didn't want you to hear the calls he was making to Gavi.
Gavi has never heard Fermin curse the way he did during the first call. He didn't even got a chance to speak.
Fermin called Gavi's parents because your uncle was still unavailable. You didn't expected them to be here, after all you had a good two weeks.
You look at the paper again, sighing as you write the address. Your heart feels broken. It was like stabbing yourself on the chest.
"Y/n?"
She heard that voice, the voice she was trying to keep away from her mind. She leaves the pen and paper on the side.
"Amor!" Gavi says, opening the door and walking near the bed.
"Leave." She is scared of her own voice. The way she never thought she could pull that tone.
"Perdรณn-"
"Pablo, I'm not playing games." You say, whipping the tears away. "Get the fuck out."
"Amor, I'm sorr-"
"Para ya, joder!" You say in an elevated tone. "You are just saying it to make yourself feel better. You left me, when I fucking needed you the most. I was here alon-"
A sob cuts you off, you try to calm yourself. You don't want to show him that he hurt you. He doesn't even deserve that.
"I feel like I don't know you." You let out in a very shaky voice. "The Pablo that I fell in love with wouldn't do this to me."
You sob, letting your emotions show. It's not easy to try to control everything you feel. It's like a fire that's burning you from head to toes.
"And I feel so stupid because I thought you were changing." You laugh. It's better than crying. "And you didn't, you leave me alone."
Gavi wanted to talk, but the door opened. It was a nurse walking with a baby on her arms. He feels his own eyes fill with tears when he sees his baby.
"Oh, baby!" You say, holding your arms out to the nurse. "Hola, mi amor."
You feel Gavi getting closer to the bed. His wandering eyes are analyzing the baby, the feeling that fulfills him it's hard to describe.
"Gavi, remember when I told you that my uncle left my room the same way it was before moving with you?" You ask him.
He doesn't understand why you are asking, but he nods. He's unsure of everything right now. His eyes are still on the baby you are holding.
"I think it's better if I go back to live with him." You say, not looking at him, only focusing on the rosy cheek of your boy.
"No, you can't do this." He says, looking at you. "Amor, por favor. You said that you wanted us to work out and be a family."
He feels his heart breaking. He hasn't even held his child, and now you are talking about living apart.
"Well, maybe I shouldn't have."
