Sir Jonathan Folcard

Sir Folcard: The path you walk is unchanging from what I see. You have pledged yourself to your lord and that is unchanging, as is your love life. “Aelin wait..”

“No..” She wobbled her arm in his hold, her stare moving from it to his face as if he had lost his mind. One of them had.  “Seems like you and your boyfriend -”

“Lord.”

“LORD BOYFRIEND - have it all figured out. Let’s just throw as many Folcards as we can at the problem. Well, you know what? I gotta say and he is going to hear my say.”  Her free hand flailed at the door, her voice raising a notch in hopes that it would carry across the entire keep to where Araian slept.

“Aelin..”

“I didn’t complain when you were sent back to that fucking hellhole.. Darkwoodshire.”

“Darkshire and you did.”

“NOT MUCH JONATHAN!” She seethed. 

“I know.” If he could just adjust her out of the doorway, he would be able to get the door closed. It had all been strategic. Planned down to the wine bottle and the boys sleeping at Adamar’s farm.

“That is not your place. Your place is here - not there.” She raged, not noticing the inching away from the door.

“I know.”

“You aren’t going!”

“I am. We can share a tent..” The door was shut, barred and he set his back to it. “I brought your favorite wine.”

“I am not drinking it.”

“Just a taste?”

“One taste, but I won’t like it.”

Silence followed the decree and then they both laughed.  At once he moved forward to collect her, his arm curling around her back until she was lifted. “We can share a bedroll..” He offered again, brows wiggling.

“I am going to egg Araian’s keep.”
