To me it shows a paradox - one can have compassion for this enemy as a human being only in the moment after there is no chance for him any more, if there was a chance for him hed be using it to try to destroy you

The nature of restaurants is such an illusion theyre so gross. Like you're getting reheated stuff we made a few days ago and i just assembled 10 other meals on the same cutting board as yours NO time to wash it it's getting wiped down with a rag in between. In no world are you getting a whole custom meal delivered to you in under 20 minutes dummy. Also just anywhere that produces a lot of food scrap trash is going to be a beacon to bugs and rodents kind of inevitable to have problems with them. Even when youre not actively fighting infestations, kitchens just have this miasma of aerosolized grease and steam and food that clings to every surface. You do your best to clean everything that directly touches food and not cross contaminate, but there's always some gross bullshit lurking somewhere.

I just learned that a lot of vintage perfumes and fragrances were intentionally created to blend well with the ever-present smell of cigarettes, and in specific a lot of iconic ones that are super musky and floral and civet-heavy were intended to compliment the smell of fur coats or even "refresh" that new fur coat smell, which is one of the reasons (besides just shifting preferences and trends) that a lot of them smell really, really bad to modern noses.

i miss being unemployed living with my parents going to the gym for 2 hours then coming home and eating a huge meal and taking a nap every day. That was awesome. Now that i work 2 physical jobs im like, definitely getting my steps in, but in terms of muscular development and mental health benefit im lacking severely
i also think joining my uni gym was a mistake, i thought it'd be easy to just go after class, but it being always so busy and full of people i see in class or the halls ended up making me feel very exposed. Plus people there are very social which i thought i wanted, but it turns out i find it mentally and physically hard to have a conversation during a workout, i have so much adrenaline going on and i get so absorbed in my thoughts.
Even if i did work up the gumption, i'm not supposed to exercise while my nose heals. I'm hopeful once that's done though i'll be more adjusted to work and it won't take so much out of me.

As of June 29, 2026 the law discussed here is a recently passed California state law (AB 1043) that requires age validation before using a computer connected to the internet. This is expected to happen at the operating system level, when you login to Windows, MacOS, Linux, etc.
Ageless Linux intends to force the issue before the California state supreme court, then ultimately (probably) the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS). It's a stupid, dangerous law, voted into place by legislators who either don't understand the core issue OR knowingly voted for it because they're assholes.
California is an influential state in the US. Many laws & regulations passed there eventually trickle out to most states. That's why it's worrisome to see this kind of thing rammed through, and why it's important to fight it.
Also, it doesn't matter if you use Linux or not. Or whether you live in California or not. Visit their site, read the text, learn what's going on with access to computing in this hellscape timeline.
