Honey's Selfship Hideaway

tedMy s/i Rue is actually a little bit of a work in progress at the moment. I can give you a few little tidbits about her tho!

her first pokemon was an energetic Stufful who would later evolve into the big, affectionate Bewear she loves dearly. When she revisited her home for the first time since her journey as a trainer began, Rue proudly introduced her parents to her Bewear and they instantly fell in love. They treat her as if she were their grandchild (as they now do with all of their daughter’s pokemon) and always have gifts of snacks for her when she visits.

Rue wanted to become a trainer from a young age but started her journey some time later than her peers. While the others all left home from the ages of 10-13, she left home at 16. This wasn’t for any significant reason, it was simply when she felt the time was right.

To her the Gym Challenge was more for fun and a way for her to travel. Rue has no intention of trying to dethrone the champion. 

Due to her not taking her training as seriously as other trainers and not looking at it as a job opportunity her attitude during big matches against gym leaders causes her to come off as arrogant and cocky, especially if she wins. Most of it is for show.

Now as far as Gordie is concerned:

The two started seeing eachother discretely after the Gym Challenge battle in Circhester as Rue was staying in the city for an extended period.

Their relationship at first was mostly physical but there was undoubtedly more. Both of them were guilty of keeping further emotions under wraps during this time.

Gordie and Rue kept in touch after she left the city to continue the Gym Challenge, talking to eachother at least once a day in some form. Rue was fond of sending photos from her journey across the country and the things she got up to in each new city.

Her journey ended when she lost to Raihan in the Gym Challenge. It was a hit to her growing ego, but it pushed her to go back to Circhester and confess her feelings to Gordie. With him being such a large celebrity, though, she was extremely nervous to make a step to possibly move things forward.

Gordie beat her to the punch by a slip of the tongue and calling her his girlfriend when they met back up at a local cafe. That was definitely what opened the door for them to finally make their relationship ‘official’.

When news of their relationship went public Rue’s parents knew thanks to seeing the two of them on tv and a small snippet on a daytime talk show before she could even call them up and tell them herself. 

They began receiving notes and gifts from fans to congratulate them and Rue absolutely loved them. She would adorn her bag with buttons and small cards from fans, wanting them to know how much she appreciated them. Her bag, however, got too full and heavy so she just started sharing photos on social media instead with heart-emoji covered messages of thanks.
