it’s so easy to fixate on what the fandom is saying about Hudson. No cinephile or film critic outside of ppl on here remotely thinks that the calls of “influencer” or “reality star” are serious. If anything his choices of projects look promising and indicate a seriousness about his craft. Also, bc we know what actual influencers are like. Hudson is not opening Instagram every day or doing IG lives promoting shit.

He’s perceived as the actor who played the boring character on the gay hockey show but who’s actually the opposite in real life; a young Canadian actor new on the scene who likes to have fun, read and loves Joachim Trier and Mahershala Ali. And his scandals are not affecting that image that much. So until his new projects are released and the critics get a better sense of who he is on screen, I personally think all projections on career-related matters are completely void.

paul of course, was right off the bat just brought his normal people beloved status to indie movies first, then bigger movies. and then has stayed on that track to oscars. no beach pap blitz though.

all this while, their personal lives have been in ebbs and flows of conversation. but idk whether either of them were called reality tv stars or infuencers. choices, choices i guess. 

this match is going to give me a heart attack so i’m doing bullet points:

3–5 years is usually the time range i give celebrities to get their money up, pad their résumé with whatever opportunities come their way, and then gradually transition into projects and partnerships that actually align with who they are and how they want to be perceived a little more comfortably in the public eye. it’s a pretty common trajectory once they’ve built enough stability to be a bit more selective.

i did such an autismo blunder with the 18th reading (but to be fair to me i did warn about the shadow meanings and incomplete interpretations) because the eight of cups at the bottom of the deck for h-c was so expected given all the transformation and rebirth themes we’ve been seeing, and how stable their bond consistently is, that it genuinely never occurred to me people would read it as indicating their relationship was strained enough to manifest an all-dooming Eight of Cups. i was reading it as a shared, mutual experience instead—a card about the two of them moving through a period of growth and transition together, not as an omen that their connection itself was falling apart

their bond just isn’t weak, conditional or insecure in that way 😭 with h and c, the recurring theme has always been growth together: letting old versions of themselves or old dynamics fall away so something healthier can take their place, not abandoning each other

i got the same impressions from my cards when i asked about this trip and what h tried to get out of it. and like, even without the cards you know a dysfunctional couple tryna reignite their shit by going on a romantic trip when you see one 😭 going alone doesn’t help and going with ohana def doesn’t make it any better. if anything important issues just get more deferred and the relationship is more ass once the highs come down. So far, I dont think either party accomplishes anything other than maybe getting some tan in.

i’m also not selling my hudcon stocks at all when these mfs are still thinking about each other like they hang the stars despite the elephant-horse in the room. not that i know shit lol but i honestly don’t get the 24/7 crashouts from people

my stocks will be tucked into a loving home for another 3–5 years, where they’ll be fed, clothed, emotionally supported, and reminded that every rough patch is just part of becoming big, strong blue chips. not a complaint from me
