Toad by the Road: A Year in the Life of These Amazing Amphibians by Joanne Ryder - A series of poems about toads through the seasons. Includes relevant information about toads at the bottom of most pages.

Yasmin the Explorer by Saadia Faruqi - About a young girl making her own map and using it while exploring her neighborhood. Has information about Urdu language and Pakistan including a recipe at the end.

Classifying Fish by Richard & Louise Spilsbury - An in depth look at fish. May be too much in general for this age group, but good for those particularly interested.

How to Read a Map by Melanie Waldron - Gives good look of the different types of maps and how to read them.

Bird Talk by Ann Jonas - Odd book using how birds sound to create somewhat of a dialogue.
