2 years ago right now I headed to the hospital with anticipation to meet this little guy. Here is my baby almost 2 yrs old drinking from a water fountain on his own looking much older than he is. He has 1 day left of being 1. Yet, so for long I’ve seen and thought of him as being 2 because of how big he is and how smart he is. He’s picked up so many words and is creating sentences and communicating so well. He’s had all his teeth including all his 2yr old molars since July 😳. I can’t believe he’s going to be 2 on Thursday 😭. He’s my greatest adventure, the little love of my life, and my favorite challenge. 👦🏼 Happy due date baby boy! What you need to get through a day when your son decides he doesn’t need a nap but you really wanted one for yourself... I wish I had as much energy as him! Josh is outside having a water fight with him while I drink coffee and recover from my 20 miler this morning. The good news is he stayed in his bed for an hour or so even though he never went to sleep. He’s handling this toddler bed transition like a champ! Last night went seamlessly as well. Super proud of him and proud of us for recognizing the right time to transition him to more freedom. Titus had a fun couple of days! We took him to the trampoline park and then today after his haircut we took Tim to NorCal Gymnastics to play with his best buddy, Carter, before he leaves for 9 months. And he got to have Pizza both days. Back in May, Titus and I had an alarming experience where he walked down a step in the outside pool of the Y and lost his footing. If he stood up his head would’ve been above water but he was disoriented. I got him above water within a few seconds but it felt like an eternity. We enrolled him in the next session of ISR (infant survival) swim lessons. Today he walked down similar steps and immediately new what to do! He has the biggest smile on his face and even claps for himself in excitement 🤣(see 2nd video). He asks for more at every lesson now. It took weeks of tears to get here but I’m so thankful we will never have that experience again! Yes the lessons are “expensive” but how can you put a price tag on a child’s life? I would’ve given anything to not have had that scary experience. And yes, it can happen to anyone. We decided to escape the smoke in Redding and head to Burney Falls for the early part of the day. It was Titus’ first time there and he hiked the whole 1.2 mile Falls Loop! What a champ! He only tried to run towards the edge once 😳 and gave me a minor heart attack. I was constantly herding him like a cat. 🤣 Honestly, he did amazing at staying safely on the trail, navigating steps, uphill and downhill. He got hot cocoa, a little digger truck which he played with so happily in the dirt right away 😍, and an ice cream to finish off the trip. I’d say he made out pretty well! Now he’s conked our in the back seat for a peaceful drive home!
