every night as I turn off the lights I think of you. 

then I ask myself if you ever think of me. 

Will there ever be an us again?

I would go to the ends of the earth for one final moment with you.

Was it too much for you to handle? 

Was I too much to handle? 

I miss you even though i’m sure I never cross your mind. 

I will always care about you even when you could’t care less about me. 

I would do everything to have you back...

but it’s always the happy ones who say it 

well if it all happens for a reason 

what is the reason for my tear stained cheeks?

my blood shot eyes? 

or for all of my sleepless nights?

I can’t seem to find the reason for any of these things

People say if you love something set it free

And if it comes back then it’s meant to be

Is that what this is?

Are you setting me free?

I sit in a room full of people

Dozens of eyes

And I still feel unseen

From the back of the room

I listen to the professor

But all I can do

Is wait

To retreat back

Sink into my bed

And never be heard from

I let you in 

and you did exactly what I was afraid of 

you convinced me you were different 

promises were made 

I believed that this time would be different 

once again my heart was shattered 

But should this shock me at this point? 

This always happens to me 

I should’ve expected the worst 

Stone cold face

with no emotion

she is asked

“what’s wrong”

as her stomach tightens

her hands begin to sweat

she utters a quiet
