HEATHER FUCKING SUCKS — Heather has historically been a classic mean girl. She’s Heather Chandler but a brunette. She SUCKS. She’s the kinda of person who insults you “as a joke” then says you’re being “too sensitive” when you call her out on it. She’s entitled and petty and mean spirited. She also makes a lot of sex jokes n shit. Naturally post season 3 she um, has a bit of a change of heart but she’s still kinda of a bitch. Just you know, more of a lovable one.
HEATHER DOESN’T DATE — Or at least she has not historically. While Heather isn’t “naturally aroace” for lack of a better phrasing she is very sex/romance adverse at this point in her life. She spent her tween years watching her older sister be torn apart by an abusive relationship that no one helped her escape and in fact supported at times and the majority of her social group since like, middle school have been untrustworthy as per popular mean girl traditions. She also barely escaped the worst of a grooming situation with her piano teacher in middle school. So the emotional/physical vulnerability of romance, sex and even just genuine platonic interaction can be very scary to her. She will mask it with aggression and making it seem like no one in Hawkins is good enough for her but she distinctly avoids romantic situations and reacts EXTREMELY negatively to them.
Characters are welcome to assume she’s doing all the normal teen stuff they are or believe whatever rumors about her getting with someone that are flying around ( bc you know they exist ) but that’s gonna be a misconception on their end. How much people notice of this behavior is really up to you and how close/perceptive they are. This doesn’t mean shipping is off the table for her, just that it’ll require more than the usual amount of plotting and time to get there. She’s shipping nightmare mode and slow burn only.
Heather and Billy are Kind of A Hivemind — this really only applies to my depiction of Heather in conjunction with my depiction of Billy ( @mtvatlas ) for the sake of other people’s vibes. But the idea here is that they survived the flaying because once the gate was shut the secondary nervous system or whatever the Mindflayer was using to control them went dormant which freed them from its control. They’re only a hivemind, like all the flayed are to an extent, when the gate is open/the MF/Vecna is Up To Something. If other’s are interested in playing around with this idea in our rp that’s cool! I’m not just forcing it on any Billys/Flayed folks or anything like that.
