With the first pick in the 2026 PWHL Draft, the Vancouver Goldeneyes have selected Caroline Harvey (D)

"San Jose Sharks GM Mike Grier announced today that the club has acquired defenseman Michael Kesselring and the 2026 27th overall selection from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for the 2026 20th overall selection."

"PWHL Las Vegas and the Vancouver Goldeneyes have completed a trade, with Las Vegas acquiring Vancouver’s second-round pick (13th overall) and fifth-round pick (49th overall) in the 2026 PWHL Draft in exchange for forward Abby Boreen and Las Vegas’ second-round pick (17th overall) in 2026."

If a player has a no-movement clause, they can't be put on waivers without their permission. In those cases, when the team decides to buy them out, they can decline being put on unconditional waivers, and just accept an immediate buyout.

Yeah, from now until June 30th, teams can buy out almost any player on their roster, the only exception being injured players. Most of the time, you'll hear about a player going on unconditional waivers for buyout purposes, and then 24 hours later, the buyout will be official, and the player will be a free agent.
