This is nothing more than an attack on healthcare, specifically women’s healthcare, and the fact is that 2.5 million people rely on their services a year. This also includes pap smears, cancer screenings, family planning, birth control, STD testing, pregnancy tests, sex education, etc. Some Planned Parenthood locations also provide general health care services such as vaccinations and physical exams, and testing/screenings for anemia, diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, thyroid, etc. 

Defunding Planned Parenthood will leave tons of people without affordable ways to access healthcare services and birth control. There’s nothing “pro-life” about that. Now here are some basic steps you can take right now:

1. Call and/or email your own local representative and demand they oppose the defunding of Planned Parenthood. You can see who your representative is HERE. Just type in your zip code and it will tell you. There will also be a small image of a computer next to their picture, which takes you directly to their website where you can find their contact information.
