To quote its wikipedia article, “A whale fall occurs when the carcass of a whale has fallen onto the ocean floor, typically at a depth greater than 1,000 m (3,300 ft), putting them in the bathyal or abyssal zones.[1] On the sea floor, these carcasses can create complex localized ecosystems that supply sustenance to deep-sea organisms for decades.”

At the first stage (out of four), a variety of “mobile scavengers” feast on the whale’s flesh, including but not limited to: hagfish, sleeper sharks, and crustaceans.

What is it about? (short)

Abyssal Alien is about an Alien stranded in Earth's deep sea, having to travel through all deep sea zones to collect her missing ship parts in order to return home.

When will it release?

As of writing this I estimate that the first 6 chapters will be finished by mid May/June. I’m only comfortable with posting the chapters once all within one part are completed to avoid long pauses between chapters.

There will be 6 parts. Part 1 will take place in the abyssal plains. It will contain 6 chapters with a total of 164 pages (188 pages including the cover and bonus art etc).

Other important notes:

I’m not making this comic alone, @les-bane-bea is my color assistant and dialog editor, taking a lot of workload off my hands making the whole comic process faster.

DEEP SEA :D

Every deep sea animal shown in the comic is real and shown in their natural depth range and or habitat (not 100% perfect but I tried my best). No environments are made up either and are all based on reality, only adding a sci-fi twist to some :>

The only things that won't be acurate are the sizes of the animals and ocean they're located in (an animal from the Pacific might be next to one from the Atlantic) Making sure all of that is acurate to real life is honestly too annoying and time consuming to reasearch and I feel that it would restrict my creativity. I still put more love and care into it than all of the deep sea misinformation slop videos I see circling around online.

Stuff deep sea enthusiasts can look forward too:

Sea pigs, big fin squid, whale fall, hydrothermal vents, brine pools and so much more. All the deep sea icons will be here plus more niche/unknown stuff. (not everything will appear in the first part of course)

I don't want anyone to die. But there are only 16 million Jews left in the whole world. Do you understand how small that is? Nearly half of them live in Israel.

America and Canada, where I live, are both colonized nations built on the blood of Indigenous peoples. That is a gruesome, undisputed fact. We have barely even begun to scratch the surface of acknowledging the depth of the crimes that were committed. Yet no one disputes that we all have a right to live here. That the refugees from other countries that flee here seeking safety and a better life dont deserve that same safety and protection, even if they are settling on colonized land. When the British colonized these lands and killed everyone who was already here, they did it purely in pursuit of power. To expand their empire, to make something theirs and rule the way they wanted. And they could have had a peaceful existence here, it's not like there isnt enough land. But they didnt do that.

Israel was not founded out of a desire for power or conquest. There were people making their way to the area they were told was the holy land for years, sure, but even those folks were by and large motivated by pogroms, not simply a desire for a nice chance of scenery.

Without the Holocaust, Israel never would have been founded. We were forced out of our homes AGAIN and not allowed to return. You sickos keep telling people "go back to Poland" as if people didnt TRY. You think they didn't just want to go home? There was no home.

If people were really not able to go anywhere else after the holocaust then that means the europeans decided it was easier (read profitable) to just colonize another place instead of building a world where stolen land being the only safe place for a group of people would be unthinkable.
