George Tjangala (also known as George Bush Tjangala) (c. 1940–1997) was an early Papunya artist whose work helped shape the emergence of the Western Desert Art movement. A Luritja/Anmatyerre man, he worked as a police tracker at Papunya while painting alongside the original generation of Papunya artists during the early 1970s. Although his known body of work is comparatively small, authenticated paintings are highly regarded for their rarity and historical significance. His public subjects include Water Snake, Spider and bush tucker Dreamings.
