Both Kaname and Gin were far more blood-thirsty than I. I often had to keep them at heel.

As Anonymous no doubt knows, Gin and I were both... very close and strangers to each other. He surprised me even on our very last day together.

Did you ever consider telling Shinji your plans and attempting to get him to join you, or even manipulating him into joining you? You seem really… fond of him so I always found it weird you decided to hollowify him.

Ah, Anonymous, there was never even a single moment when I entertained including @hirakosuggestions in on The Plan TM.

Our history simply made it impossible.

Our divergent personalities made it into... whatever exists beyond impossible.

My former captain was both far too suspicious of me and not nearly attentive observant enough.

Also, I don't know how well you know Hirako Shinji, Anonymous, but he is, even now, never further than five feet from a large gaggle of dear friends. Including one, @hiyorisuggestions, who can only be most kindly described as... loud. And opinionated. And not especially well disposed towards me, even when she knew nothing of my true nature.

Thus, a person like Hirako Shinji, with his cadre of high-spirited friends, is not the sort of person that one draws into confidence when the Master Plan TM includes what most would consider treason--not to mention a need for absolute secrecy.

Besides, Captain Hirako very much represented much of what I despise about the Gotei 13. Perhaps... I might have considered excluding him from Hollowification had he not been so quick to reach out a hand in friendship to the former warden of the Maggot's Nest.

The Maggot's Nest holds children, did you know? Everyone's favorite "humble" shopkeeper not only kept them there under his own lock and key, but he hunted down others who were not guilty of any crime other than their 'potential' danger to the Soul Society and condemned them to life in prison.

This is what it all comes down to, Anonymous. As my friend Kaname was fond of saying, justice. In the end, justice must be served.

Those who are willing to uphold the status quo, when its injustice is so plainly obvious to even the most casual observer, deserve nothing but my ire and contempt.

Had Hirako Shiji been a better man, could his fate have been different?

He simply was not all I hoped for any better than he was.

Oh, they certainly are. And... they seem to be in a whole lot of trouble at the moment precisely because they don't have me as an ally against Hell.

You want me to diminish my superior army of Espada by adding a far weaker Shinigami? Why would I do such a thing? I suppose that if you imagine that my end goal was to win against the invading Shinigami, then, yes, I should replace any one of my Espada with @ichigosuggestions. Probably, if I had to chose, I would trade the shinigami army one @grimmjowsuggestions/ @grimmjow-suggestions in exchange for the Ryoka Boy. 

If I have to chose from currently serving captains and lieutenants, however, I would take @hirakosuggestions… just for the sweet, sweet irony of it. He would actually be quite useless. And, only worth a trade with Dondochakka. 

If I could chose from any officer who had ever served, I would be hard pressed to chose between @unohanaretsusuggestions and @uraharasuggestions. I think having an unkillable murder machine in the First Kenpachi would have obvious advantages on the field of battle, but, of course, Urahara Kisuke is, like myself, considered a Quincy war potential for his intellect and it would be nice to actually have him doing the right thing for once and joining the side that would take down that Wretched Thing on the Empty Throne™. 

...so many hours spent with that thing. 

But I most certainly DID NOT look like I had JUST STUCK MY FINGER IN A LIGHT SOCKET SHINJI. And you most certainly DID NOT look TOTALLY RAD for the NEXT YEAR after I crimped your hair in revenge (and then you just kept doing like that because you’re a DUMB BALDY).

There has never been anyone that I could imagine being either committed to, nor romantic with.

But, I’ll play your game for amusement’s sake. 

I’m disappointed that you have limited me to the Soul Society, as I will admit to a certain fascination with Senjumaru Shutara. She’s clearly a brilliant person, though I do take a small amount of umbrage at her categorizing me as “the personification of evil.” Still, she clearly followed my career closely.

And of course, she possesses the secret of the oken.

But, in the Soul Society? Let me consider…

Had I wanted her, @hinamorisuggestions would have stayed by my side for eternity. Of that I have no doubt. Unfortunately for her, such an entanglement is untenable for me. I think her… kindness and insight would have been dangerous to my Plans ™ in the long run. But, certainly, in some other universe, Momo would have been a strong candidate.

Anyone else?

I suppose I held a certain fondness for @tousensuggestions. We were, at least, friends. Clearly, however, I was…. lacking in the commitment department, in the end.

@gin-suggestions and I merely formed a brief alliance, I could hardly consider him a romantic parter. Though possibly a sex friend.

Admittedly, I spent a foolish amount of time attempting to gain the attention of @hirakosuggestions, but, ultimately,  the captain was far too distractible for my taste. And, honestly, how could I respect anyone that I could fool so easily? And that zanpakutō? “Inverted world”? Please. Illusion is child’s play.

I had, in my youth, some pleasant philosophical debates with @jushirosuggestions. I could see passing time with someone like Captain Ukitake. Though, I do imagine that with one, comes the other, and I have zero patience for our current Captain Commander, @shunsuisuggestions. Alas, on this one, too, I shall have to pass.
