We have our own language.
If I were to stop you on the street and ask, โare you paddedโ โ youโd have no trouble understanding exactly what I am asking you.
โYou heard the crinkle?โ you might reply.
โYep. Cushie?โ I might guess.
โDry 24/7,โ you might say. โGotta have that thickness, bro.โ
โHad those in my stash, before my last purge,โ I might tell you.
โGoing to Teddy?โ youโd likely inquire.
Anyone around us who heard that conversation would probably be like: What. The. Fuck. Is. This. Conversation. Even. About?
Because we understand each other.
We speak the same language.
We are the only people who do.
We donโt realize that, of course, until we do our first internet search โ probably something like โwhy do I like diapersโ โ and we finally find out that weโre not alone.
But once we do find out, and we surf the net and realize how โnot aloneโ we actually are, a wave of relief sweeps over us.
Eventually, we begin to make friends.
And, for most of us, at some point we realize that these arenโt just friends - itโs like we have a second family out there.
People who understand us in a way that nobody outside of this community could ever hope to.
Our secrets โ and the connection we feel when we finally find someone else who speaks our โlanguageโ โ is probably why the bonds we make with one another are so strong.
The next time you are thinking about purging, think about how valuable you are to this community, and how valuable this community probably is to you.
Before you deactivate your Tumblr account, or throw away all of your diapers and baby stuff, remember that your pictures, stories, comments, and other contributions to the community probably mean as much to someone as othersโ mean to you.
Be proud of who you are, and your role in all of this. Thatโs what being a part of the #ABDL community is all about.
