Do not send repetitive asks, I will not reblog the same post, every person, every reblog request, I’ll do it once because there’re many who need help and I feel like rebloging a post twice would be unfair. in this aspect, yuma thinks that cats are gentle creatures, protecting their owner’s feelings. but they are also cruel, leaving those they cared about a glimpse of hope for their return that will never come true.

meeden’s living organisms are fascinating like that.

the first change was in his appetite.

it was subtle. and truthfully speaking, yuma himself didn't notice it at first, but his mentor's behavior tells him enough.

konami-senpai’s worried glances as he eats her curry less, his appetite smaller, him being calmer when trying out new japan desserts as he can't taste anything, he'd like to pretend it's sweet based on yotaro's story. even yotaro feels like there’s something wrong with his reactions, asking him if the snacks don't taste good to him.

he found the questions endearing, his duck face and playful teases ever present to chase the worry away.

"while not completely true for every case, a cat's sign of dying includes loss of appetite…"

and then, his voice is silenced

, not quite. after all, his throat is fine, he’s in a trion body after all. trion leaks through his mouth every time he speaks, it’s weird, but it’ll soon done patching itself up. he choked on the smoke that follows every time he answered the same to his teammates.

he dislikes the way others ask him about it, they’re worried about such small inconveniences that he feels guilty letting them see the trion leak, speaking near them. so he talks less, makes more duck faces, exaggerates his expressions in place of talking too much. he started staying up the roof more often, if just to avoid talking to his friends. he wish to converse more, ask more about this world but he hates seeing them so worried. he couldn't be selfish now.

he’s glad that his combat body doesn’t share this problem.

soon enough, everything will fall back into its normal rhythm, just a bit quieter.

third, his vision

it wasn’t much of a problem, humans can see just fine even if they only have one functional eye after all. not to mention he's an experienced soldier, this much is manageable.

one day, his left view just flickered in and out of view. normal, then black, then normal again.

shun was gonna jump him from his left side, then it was black, and his torso was sliced by a scorpion. shun seemed confused at the hit, fully expecting yuma to defend himself against such an obvious hit.

he doesn’t want to think much about this problem.

fourth was the sensations

small inconveniences occurred.

it happened randomly. twitches in his hands, his leg losing out on him in the middle of a match, him blacking out a millisecond then return like nothing happened, osamu and chika’s concern looks towards him sometimes when he tripped over his leg in the corridor. small things. 

he still wins their fights, still gains points for tamakoma-2, still their ace.

cutlery slipping through his hold, his body going numb, he’s there but not quite there situations, him going autopilot in border’s corridors, him almost tripping on a wire. small things.

he’s still functional, enjoying konami-senpai’s curry, having late night talks with jin-san while drinking cocoa on the rooftop during nights the man couldn’t sleep, ignoring the way jin-san wants to ask about something, revising battle strategies with replica’s voice in his head.

everything’s fine.

he forgot how to support himself using his legs sometimes, his grip wasn’t enough to hold scorpion sometimes, his movements felt sloppy sometimes, feeling out of touch sometimes, ignoring murakami-senpai and kageura-senpai’s exchanged worried glances during their spars sometimes, him not asking for spars whenever the others are free.

he felt tired when he breathes. weird, because trion body doesn't feel tired.

he’ll manage.

his trion body will soon break, the black trigger can’t help his real body anymore, that much is certain, and so he left. he left the tamakoma branch, headed to an address he knew they wouldn’t be able to follow, his father’s house. granted, he hasn’t been there since his first days in meeden, replica by his side showing him the way, helping him clean up the dust-covered house. he just wants to be somewhere close to his dad in his final moments. and oh is that not so incredibly selfish of him, to want closure from the very same man whose life he stole, and he would make quite the mess there was he to arrive, wouldn’t he, haha. his steps feel like the lead bullets chika used, his vision blurry, body weight supported by the alley's walls. 

would he even be able to get to the house?

he doesn’t know, he can’t even tell if he’s thinking straight anymore, everything seems so far away already. is he still conscious? he must be, right? he's thinking. he’s sitting on the ground now, he feels warm, trion bodies doesn’t feel temperature. it’s july.

he’s tired.

last to go was the sound, and oh would he do anything to not hear their wails. he should’ve hidden himself better.

jin didn’t see where yuma was heading until it’s already too late, osamu and chika found him in the alley where he beat up the delinquents (the 4 dudes saying they need money or sth) in the beginning chapters. i think it’s a sentimental thing to visit places with fond memories before heading to one’s final destination, is all.

as for the timeline, im thinking after hyuse got to afto but they couldn’t find replica as he has been dissected and discarded by the aftos or just, before the whole away mission in general. hm.

all this happened in 5 days btw (more or less, depends)

this is probs incredibly ooc, because i usually write whatever comes to mind without a character at the root, so sorry for that. this one spawned so suddenly and randomly, lol. what you mean i got reminded of my nickname and my recent line of thoughts? and bam, yuma's here to fill the [character] spot. sorry yuma, you are now my sacrificial lamb.
