Kholusia is just enough to haunt her. Enough white limestone cliff and ocean salt to call back Limsa. But Eulmore - no. Eulmore reminds Ileane of Ul’dah. She can explain it in no other way but that they share the same stench. It is a place that she suspects neither of them wishes to linger in. But they’ve been here for two nights tracking down the source of the Crystarium leaks.

Ileane has slain a Lightwarden, has stood before armies ; she does not fear swords or daggers in the dark. But they have Minfillia now, and she is not just the memory that haunts the Scions, but a child. Soft and vulnerable. A thing to be protected. And she is-

Thancred is many things, but in this Ileane reads him loud and clear. Minfillia is his weakness.

“What do you intend to do after we find them?” Because they will find them, and Ileane might be willing to let them go or slit their throats, but she has to know if Thancred is rational. If he’s under control or if he’s going to fly off the handle. 

DEATH  BY  ILEANE’S  HAND  WOULD  BE  A  KINDNESS  to  those  that  had  brought  so  much  pain  to  not  only  himself  but  his  young  charge;  compared  to  the  scenarios  in  his  head,  a  sliced  throat  or  even  beheading  would  be  a  mercy.  any  and  all  that  dared  to  endanger  minfilia’s  freedom  would  not  be  spared  his  bloody  vengeance  if  he  was  not  held  back  --  part  of  him  wondered  if  ileane  would,  or  whether  she  would  enjoy  the  scene.   always  a  hard  one  to  read,  thancred  oft  wondered  if  killing  was  only  a  job  to  her,  or  if  murder  was  in  her  blood.

“  I  intend  to  do  as  is  required  of  me:  enact  punishment  worthy of  the  crime  committed.  the  fact  they  have  evaded  us  this  long  only  makes  the  sentence  harsher.  ”  his  words  did  not  sound  like  his  own,  voice  harsh  as  he  balled  a  single  fist  at  his  side  and  tightened  his  grip  on  his  gunblade  with  the  other.  “  

while  true  that  they  had  not  endangered  minfilia  directly,  thancred  would  not  forgive  himself  if  he  did  not  take  care  of  the  eulmoran  spies  appropriately.  there  would  be  no  redemption  for  those  who  sought  only  to  harm  norvrandt  and  make  the  young  blonde  ran’jit’s  slave  once  again.  the  memory  of  his  first  meeting  with  her  began  to  linger  in  his  mind,  causing  a  brief  grimace  as  he  remembered  seeing  those  piercing  blue  eyes  and  feeling  the  familiar  gaze  of  a  complete  stranger.

IMPORTANT.  if you’re to read any part of my rules, I’d like to hope it’s this. i have incredibly bad social anxiety to the point where, before making this blog, i isolated myself completely ( aside from my partner and family ) for upward of six months. returning to rp and talking to people is incredibly overwhelming for me. i ask that you don’t send multiple messages that are not entirely plotting based in a row – i.e. saying hello / how are you / trying to get my attention if you see me online or assume me to be. i’m not upset at anyone who does this, it just makes me uncomfortable and i would prefer the majority of my out of character conversation with people to be based upon plotting and character development. this is the one rule i will enforce without mentioning it beforehand, since now that it is written here i expect people to respect it.
