saw people of varying ages from kids to elderly marchingâfightingâfor their rights. saw people below the poverty line, faces battered with exhaustion from making ends meet but the fury in their eyes were alive and blazing with anger and conviction. saw children, faces brimming with innocence, excitedly holding their slogans. saw so many things today that gave me chills, triggered my tears, and made my heart beat with hope. this is the kind of movement we should all partake in. the movement to demand transparency and accountability. the movement to demand answers to questions such as, âsaan napupunta ang buwis na binabayaran ko?â. this is only the beginning and this will certainly not be the end, not until we have every corrupt officials and their cohorts begging the people for forgiveness, returning what they have stolen from the people, and rotting in jail where they belong.
iâm planning to get new prescription glasses for better vision but i havenât decided what frame to get. i found this really cute photo app with extensive filters and realized black rimmed glasses suit my face. i used to have this kind of glasses back in college before switching to old rose metal. maybe it's time to get back to classic black.
life lately vol. 14
neverending trainings and workshops. i'm always out of the office, i barely saw my manager for the past two months but it's over now (finally!)
started to evaluate our midyear performance and right after that, will go immediately to the yearly budget review. so many things to do, so little time.
the rainy season has come. although it's been a hassle going from and to the office (or anywhere for that matter), i like this better than the summer with the relentless heat and humidity making me feel lethargic.
we had our team builing at studio 300! for the night, we had unlimited bowling, billiards, karaoke, food, and drinks.
did i mention that we danced as an opening to our company-wide b-ball games? lmao. we only had like a week to prepare. it's been a while so i had a lot of fun.
first time eating at pat-pat's kansi restaurant. it was right after our dance training. we were hungry and the weather was cool. i loved the kansi which is like a fusion between sinigang and bulalo. don't get me started with their bonesless bangus. everything we ate was really good.
of course, my day will never be complete without coffee. i would usually just make a hot americano but sometimes, i also buy drinks when i feel like it. my usual go-to at zu's coffee is their iced shaken double espresso with boss beans and oat milk. i was also able to try their iced not pistachio latte which really confused me btw. when i tasted it, it's just matcha. then, there's a new drink at starbucks which is the golden caramel churro. i ordered the iced latte one and i fell in love. it's similar to cold brew malt at starbucks reserved except this one is less creamy and a little bit watered down which suited my taste buds. another choice of drink is the iced coffee latte at treats. i always ask to put a lot of cinnamon powder on top to make my coffee less boring.
itâs flooding everywhere. the rain would come and go but when it does come, it pours heavily carried by strong gusts of wind. the lightning would flash right before our eyes and the thunder would come belatedly. itâs such a hassle traveling to and from work with the onslaught of the southwest monsoon. but as a corporate slave, i have no choice but to face the bad weather head on. stay safe, everyone!

baguio 2024
this post is long overdue (nauna pa yung cebu 2025 kesa dito lol). it's my one-day trip to baguio. my friend and i just wanted a breather so we decided to go to baguio. we commuted going there. we almost didn't make it because the buses were full but fortunately, we managed to secure seats somehow. we left in the wee hours of the morning so we could go to a lot of places.
first agenda was to eat. we went to guido's ristorante. we had pasta, waffles, and coffee. the air was cool and crisp as we savored our first meal of the day. after eating, we went to tam-awan village. i wasn't informed that we were going to hike a mountain. good thing i wore comfy shoes then. i saw some really old traditional huts. when i was a kid, i wanted to live in one. even now that i'm an adult, i still want to live in one but with more modern touches. then, we went to the valley of colors. i was surprised that people actually live there. we also tried their strawberry ice cream which had a really cute red color.
we had our lunch at cafe by the ruins. it has a really nice and cozy ambiance to it. the interior almost felt like home. when we got there, there was already a queue. we didn't wait long, thankfully. i had crispy tapa and iced ruins coffee. it was good but nothing special about it. after lunch, we went to bencab museum. the commute was longer than i expected. it was a nice place with beautiful artwork decorating the whole place. there weren't many people around so i got to enjoy our visit in peace.
for an early dinner, we went to ili-likha artists village. i'm still amazed how beautiful the place was. it's a food park inside a humongous tree house. the inside was intriguing. it felt like i transmigrated to encantadia or something. anyway, we had a light dinner there and a butterfly pea flower tea to calm my stomach. after dinner, we visited the baguio cathedral. we also went to the night market. i bought some souvenirs like choco and strawberry flakes, lengua de gato, ube jam, and strawberry jam.
i got home around one in the morning. i was physically tired but i was happy and contented. people called us crazy when we told them our one-day trip. it may be impulsive but it was one of the best experiences of my 2024.
the ruins, ogtong cave, house of lechon bantayan island, cebu
it's our third and last day.
we watched the sunrise and ate breakfast by the beach at our accommodation. their food is really good, especially the tapa, daing, salpicao, and waffles. 10/10 would recommend. after eating breakfast, we went to the ruins by the cliff and ogtong cave. if you hate swimming under the sun, ogtong cave is the place to go. it's a small cave, away from direct sunlight, water is super cool and clear. fortunately, there weren't many people when we went there so we still got to swim for a while.
after lunch, we packed our things and checked out. we rode the bus and the ferry going back to cebu proper. our flight was late in the evening, so we stopped by at house of lechon for dinner and bought souvenirs such as dried mangos, otap, banana chips, piaya, etc.
i honestly don't understand why people would start following someone, get a follow back but unfollow after without removing the person from their followers list. like what are you trying to do here exactly? personally, i hate it when people do this. it says a lot about their character tbh.
island hopping + paraw sailing bantayan island, cebu
finally, the beach experience. living in the city made me forget the beauty of the sea.
island hopping was so much fun than i thought. we went to three different islands, did some snorkeling, fed some fish, ate delicious food, and just basked in nature. paraw sailing, in particular, was such a special experience. apart from the beautiful sunset, i get to feel the calm. being in the middle of the ocean, far from the buzzing of civilization, there's nothing but silence. it was deafening at first but as i got used to it, i remembered just how simple it was to breathe and appreciate the life that i have now. it's as if i was given the luxury of time to actually feel and reflect. i lay there, gazed at the sky and let the water carry my weight anywhere it wished. at that moment, i just let my thoughts drift away.
church, mangrove ecopark, dinner by the beach bantayan island, cebu
for our first day, we visited st. peter and paul church also known as bantayan church. itâs one, if not the only, oldest churches in cebu. the outside wouldnât usually attract my attention but when i went inside, i was greeted with a mesmerizing murals on its ceiling. i loved how vibrant the painting was in contrast to its ivory walls.
then our next stop was the omagieca obo-ob mangrove ecopark. for only 75php, we went into one of the most scenic adventure of our lives. i had fun walking on the bamboo docks. it looks shaky but when i walked on it, itâs actually pretty sturdy. with the awareness that iâm literally walking on wood, i walked slowly than usual which gave me more time to appreciate the numerous specie of mangroves around me. the walk was longer than i expected but the journey itself was calming.
after all the walking, we went to have dinner at amihan beach cabanas. the overall vibe is pretty chill with dimmed neon lights and beach bar counter. there were a lot of people when we got there. fortunately, a group left so we didnât wait that long. i heard this place is being hyped by influencers but for whatever reason, i donât know. apart from the seaside location, their food didnât really meet my expectations. i donât know about their drinks because i didn't try it.
anyway, we went to another store to get some refreshments. i got myself a matchu pitchu juiceâa combination of cucumber, mint and calamansiâfrom twisted ice cream & cafe, which is near amihan.

santa fe beach club bantayan island, cebu
for three days and two nights, we stayed here at santa fe beach club which has a stunning view of the ocean, delicious food, and it's got to be one of the most peaceful places on earth.
going to bantayan would warrant a ferry ride from hagnaya port to santa fe port. the good thing about this place is that it's near the port. just five minutes away, you will find this beautiful oasis. their food is great and affordable too. i loved everything we ate here which includes baked scallops, fried pork belly, and shanghai lumpia. they also have coffee drinks, fruit juice and shakes, and halo-halo.
in front is a long stretch of fine white sand and stunning, ocean view. living here would be such a dream.
holy week 2025
went home to my province for the holy week. it was a nice breath of fresh air. although i didnât plan to go in the first place, i found myself enjoying my stay there.

seventeen right here â day 2
okay, so i have mixed emotions for this one.
it was the first time we bought bleacher tickets. we sold our standing tickets because the queueing number was impossible to go near the barricade. also, let me just talk about the queue. it was honestly disappointing compared to the queue for VIP/standing. they were supposed to let the bleachers in by 4:30pm but they opened the gates to the stadium at 5:30pm. this caused a delay for the other bleacher holders who were still lining up for security check. the caratzone closes at 5pm and the show starts at 6:30pm. some fans weren't able to go to the caratzone since it was already closed. the time management was distressing. i can endure VIP/standing rather than the queue for bleachers if i may be honest.
for reference, this view is bleachers mid 2 so it was on the second floor. the height was nauseating (or maybe because i wasnât used to it). the carts were too far down and the fans stood up and literally blocked the view for the rest of us while they stood by the railings. the ushers were telling them to go back for security purposes but nobody listened (couldnât blame them honestly).
anyway, the concert was still fun. the members made it fun. the bleachers, despite the far view, also gave their all out. i was quietly smiling while the rest sing and shout. when youâre at the ground, you donât get to see and experience just how massive svt is for filling the stadium. so i guess thatâs the beautiful experience that a bleacher seat can give you. youâre more relaxed as you enjoy the concert.
overall, it was still okay. maybe it wouldâve been better if we were at the first floor. i donât have much pictures of myself for this one since i was just walking around getting freebies and buying food to kill some time. i was still tired from the day before and i really thought the queue would be okay thatâs why we just went around.

seventeen right here â day 1
this is the second time that svt started my year with a blast. another fun core memory unlocked. also, i was able to check off two items from my bucket list: 1) go solo, and 2) attend VIP.
i wasnât really planning to attend day 1 nor go solo nor get a VIP ticket. like this is literally a last-minute decision. initially, i had a standing ticket for day 2 with my friend but when we got to know our queueing number, it was so high that i felt hopeless that i wonât get the chance to see the members up close. so, i tried looking for a VIP ticket three days before the concert. i also asked the heavens to give me a sign if i should really proceed with my plan to attend day 1. alas, a mutual of mine on twitter retweeted a selling post. it was VIP for day 1 and she was selling it at srp. last friday, i met up with the seller and also claimed the physical ticket. i immediately booked a shuttle for day 1.
it was the best decision i have ever made. despite the scorching heat, i was able to make it through, met with some of the sweetest people and i saw the members with my own eyes without having to squint nor use binoculars. one of the reasons why i also pushed to go for VIP is because this is the first time in a while that seungcheol will come to the philippines. heâs one of my biases (my other bias had enlisted last year) and with the rest of the members scheduled for military, i felt like this will be the last time that they will have a concert here.
overall, the experience was superb. seungcheol had completely wrecked me for obvious reasons. i have a ton of videos and pictures on my phone because i wanna preserve the moment but i'll gatekeep them for now. next time, iâll get a VIP by all means possible.
