This is the bird i am going to introduce. :) 

3 REASONS for introducing it  1. It is so happy and friendly in the video. 

2. It is another bird that cannot fly (most of the people only know that chicken cannot fly).

3. It is critically endangered.

大家有冇去米埔見下咁珍貴既佢地呢? 知唔知佢地係片中做緊咩?

New study confirms common birds are powerful indicators of threats from climate change. From Europe to the US the trends match as scientists expected, the data showing coherent and substantial changes in detriment to cold-adapted species.

Protecting the birds is not only helping them, all those things will come back to us. Climate change problem is the elephant in the room. We have to do something now!!! Not only for the good of other species, but also ourselves. 

雀鳥係好有效既指標，話比我地知氣候變化的影響有幾大。雀鳥好容易受到氣候變化的影響而數量變少，日常習慣變得不正常等等。

尋日介紹左每年4月都會在香港米埔停留的勺嘴鷸 :)

呢個app就可以方便大家知多D香港既雀鳥啦~ 好似pokemon 入面既小精靈圖鑑添 :)

近年，越來越多市民走入大自然，觀鳥成為最熱門的活動之一，而隨著數碼攝影日趨普及，雀鳥的各種形態和生活習性都能一一記錄。這個由港大計算機科學系與香港觀鳥會合作開發的流動應用程式，讓公眾可以隨時隨地欣賞這些美麗的鄰居，內容包括香港二百多種常見雀鳥的多媒體資訊、香港多元化生態環境介紹、觀鳥小貼士等。智能手機用戶不但可以免費下載應用程式，下載後無須上網便可以隨時使用，這對身在戶外或不能上網的觀鳥者尤其有用。這個程式更設有篩選功能，用戶可按鳥種、生境、居留狀況、品種受到威脅的等級及鳥的大小自定篩選條件，方便搜尋。透過此流動應用程式，巿民不但可以隨時隨地享受觀鳥的樂趣，更可以透過圖片及資訊即時鑑定雀鳥的品種。

勺嘴鹬    Spoon-billed Sandpiper

每年4月在港停留的勺嘴鷸，是其中一種極度瀕危的雀鳥 。勺嘴鷸體型小如手掌，有著黑臉琵鷺一樣的扁平嘴巴，進食時就如吸塵機貼著地面。

由於勺嘴鷸在飛往西伯利亞繁殖地期間，會途經香港米埔，故每年米埔均吸引不少遠自歐美來到的愛鳥者，希望覓得勺嘴鷸的蹤影。

研究認為牠們數目急降的主因包括繁育生境及遷飛過程時中轉站的破壞。其中位於南韓重要的一站──新萬金防潮堤近40000公頃的大型填海計劃所破壞。而每年亦有為數不少的勺嘴鹬在中轉站當地被捕獵。此外，全球暖化導致牠們特有的繁殖地──凍土層的減少也影響了牠們可繁殖後代的機會。

Spoon-billed Sandpiper is a small wader which breeds in north-eastern Russia and winters in Southeast Asia. Hong Kong is a stopover point along the East-Asian Australasian Flyway, and Spoon-billed Sandpipers pass through here on their way south.

象牙喙啄木鳥是一種極度瀕危的啄木鳥。

牠們喜歡棲息在密林沼澤及針葉林。 但合適的棲息地已經無幾。 :(

牠們於1800年代因獵殺數量而大量下降。這也成為牠們瀕危的主因。

In order to protect birds and other animals, protecting their habitats is a great choice. 

By making a different choice while purchasing, you are helping the rainforest and those lovely birds and other animals already. :)

啄木鳥 Woodpecker 

啄木鳥我細細個就聽過佢個名，但原來佢都有數量減少既問題。

下隻我要介紹既雀鳥就係其中一種啄木鳥。大家睇住張GIF先啦~

介紹完黑白兀鷲，但有好多人都好想知多D有關佢既事。例如點解佢好似好恐怖好勁咁，但都會有絕種危機?   

黑白兀鷲

牠們雖然不討喜，卻具有非常重要的地位，因為牠們會清除動物死屍，讓屍體不至於腐爛並傳播流行病。

現今卻面對數量下降的嚴重問題。由於牠們是重要的鳥類功能群，我們要好好保育牠們。

畜牧用藥、 劇毒殺蟲劑 是兀鷲最大的生存威脅。  當兀鷲去造訪那些有毒的家畜屍體，或是啄食被毒死的獅子，中毒的問題便出現，導致牠們死亡。 所以我們要禁止把這種藥用在動物身上，和教育民眾如何適當使用這些化學物。

Overhunting, aggravated by overgrazing and degradation of acacia woodlands are obvious causes of the collapse of Gyps Rueppelli. Also, intensified use of cattle, increased disturbance and poisoning of predators may have been critical in the dramatic decline of Gyps Rueppelli.

講過Red List ，要再介紹埋佢針對物種的瀕危分級。

其評估標準共分為九級。(我在圖中只介紹了七級!!! )

我之後將會集中介紹瀕危等級或以上的雀鳥。因為呢D雀鳥面對既問題更迫切。

It’s me again :) After introducing the Red List, you have to know how they categorize the birds. The 9 categories introduced by Red List helps us to know more about different animals status. (I only mentioned 7 categories in the picture.)

保育雀鳥之知多一點點

到底有幾多雀鳥係瀕臨絕種或者珍貴稀有保育類? 呢個國際自然保護聯盟瀕危物種紅色名錄就可以話你知啦~ 

IUCN紅色名錄是根據嚴格準則去評估數以千計物種及絕種風險所編製而成的。IUCN紅色名錄被認定為對生物多樣性狀況最具權威的指標!!!

我都會係黎緊既日子介紹唔同既受威脅雀鳥!!! 記得留意啦~

雀鳥的特徵有好多, 例如喙( 鳥嘴) , 翅膀, 蛋，但不只是雀鳥才有這些特徵。

只有雀鳥才有羽毛!!!! 記住啦  :)
