🌈🐾🌈🐾 We lost our little boy. My heart is shattered, and I still don’t even understand what happened.

On the 4th of July, he didn’t come by the entire day. I figured he was probably freaked out by the fireworks, since some of my other outside cats were also confused and scared. He never came by that day, and it was the first time he had ever missed a day.

I had him since he was a baby, and he came by every single day. We got him a home, or at least tried to, two different times, but both times he was returned to us.

I was worried about him. He finally came back, I believe on the 6th of July, and immediately I noticed something was wrong. He didn’t want to go near his food, and I knew he had to be hungry since he hadn’t come by for about two days.

I immediately grabbed him and brought him inside, and my heart sank when I noticed he was having trouble breathing. I panicked, but I took care of him all night. I kept watching him, and his breathing continued to get worse. He started breathing with his mouth open, and there was nothing I could do. I had to wait until morning for the vet to open.

I took a small nap for about an hour, and when I woke up, he was in really bad shape. He was gasping for air, and we immediately took him to the vet.

When we arrived, it was still too early, and the doctor wouldn’t be there until 9 a.m. I begged them to please do something for my little boy because he couldn’t breathe. They had one of the nurses check on him.

And that’s when it happened.

He had a seizure right in front of our eyes and passed away. I am devastated. I don’t know what happened to my little boy.

We took his little body back home and buried him. I'm so sad.

I believe something happened to him during the 4th of July.

After this experience, please keep your babies safe and tell them you love them every single day. I am devastated, but one way or another, I will keep feeding and helping cats in my neighborhood.

It’s not easy, and it’s dangerous out there. I can’t bring any more cats inside since I already have 5 cats indoors, but if you have outdoor cats and you have the space, please bring them inside.

It’s dangerous outside for cats.

I just wanted to give an update on the terrible month I’ve been having.
