Maksim, barely having the time to translate and truly understand what Scarlett had said to him, began walking after her when she started heading to the next class. “Ah! Aezzer, yes. I am apart, and you too? Fun, fun!” Maksim grinned in Scarlett’s direction when he caught up to her, a bit like a puppy chasing after a troubled owner.

Candace was happy to be in class with both Julian and Evie, but the thought of sitting next to Julian for the entire semester was a bit overwhelming–her eyes looked up at her face, then traced down his figure, and sat down at the start of the middle row. She urged Evie to sit down next to her, leaving Julian to sit down next to Evie. It was close enough for comfort for her. “What could we end up doing? Be our own bunsen burner? Our own stovetop?” She didn’t mean to pick a fight, and she tried to keep her voice soft, but her hopes were low. On-the-floor low. All Candace could imagine, could hope, was that the flames she could only partially control would entirely consume her before she could hurt anybody else.

He didn’t quite look like a vampire, but didn’t look like Edward Cullen either. He was decent looking……depending on who you asked.

“I like to make friends,” Maksim nodded. “There more people here than my whole village home! It was no fun for me. Must walk long distance to meet new people.” He shook his head with a sigh. “Here, I like it better then home.” While seemingly lost in thought, Maksim started to doodle more random things onto his poster.

Julian always seemed to mess up when talking to Candace- he tried to be comforting but, in the end, it didn’t work, it just didn’t fit him no matter how hard he tried. He could understand the nerves of fear of one’s elements- he definitely had enough reason to hate and fear himself and his element- but as time passed he suffered from a severe disconnect from the event and tried to separate himself from his element: it was something he could use, it was not something that would use him. “Outside of water, I can’t immediately think of fire weaknesses…” He grumbled. “And, I wonder just exactly how different my own will be or if there is none for an electric user like myself…” He tried to think of himself as a fire user, but it seemed impossible- he just had to remind himselfit was like water and ice, the same element just condensed and formed differently.
