I was trying to find a suitable screenshot to inaugurate this blog — and really, it has to be this moment from Keep Your Hands of Eizouken!.

EDIT: 5 years later (January 2026), I've decided to use this post to write a quick intro. Yahoo!

This is a blog where I babble about various anime, manga, webcomics, cartoons, games, films and TV shows. I tend to fly through interests pretty quickly... but I can also get pretty deeply invested in whatever I'm watching, reading or playing.

I'll occasionally liveblog something, in which case, I'll try to use #hb liveblogs (probably retrospectively!).

I prefer to tag assiduously (when I remember to, hoho); my Tag Directory is under the cut.

Got my first call-out post on Dissidia Duellum (at least the first one that I'm aware of lol) and it's left me feeling a bit flat for a few reasons:

I'd played with this player a few times before and we've won together on a fair few occasions so... implying that I don't know how to play the game is pretty?

This week has sucked on a lot of fronts (for other reasons) so this was just. Unneeded.

They also implied that my rank hadn't advanced before, which is like. Hello. I was the same rank that you are right now, before the seasonal re-set?

I've lost soooo many games today and it's pretty sad!

This is the second time TODAY that our team got "Thank you!" spammed by a player I normally respected. I ended up unfollowing both people but boyyy.

Something about this season is really making people kind of grizzly. I feel like I've seen more "Thank you!" spams than in the last two seasons.

Like... I don't care HOW badly some of my random teammates play – I'm not rude to them because hello? Being courteous and decent is more important than some pixels HELP.

(This could've been a diary entry but no, it shall be a tumblr post!)

This is what Square Enix were talking about in the Dissidia interview when they said, "People were worried about having a PvPvE system." I've praised the community in the past and some people are genuinely lovely but urgh.

Anyway. A couple of positives. I was going to leave it, originally, but I called the player out on their rudeness. And someone else defended me, which was pretty sweet.

(I'll care less about this later but I guess what's worrying is how my knee-jerk desire is to uninstall? I really have low tolerance for anything that frustrates me, yeurgh.)

EDIT: Okay update after the other perspn intervened OP said that I am a good player but that I shouldn't get distracted by PVP. Which is a fair comment and I've mostly calmed down now lol

Also, I've gotten so accustomed to typing in the Dissidia chat this last month that I keep wanting to shorten words on tumblr in order to meet the character limit djdjd BUT. We don't have such stringent limits...!

Gah, I'm way too into this game – I hope that it gets some longevity since it is a lot of fun (most of the time: occasionally, you get put together with some stinky players who get so aggressive if you lose a match but ah well).

The opening is beauuuutiful

I love that their homeroom teacher is a huge need who feels the need to hide her nerdiness lol

ALL THE REFERENCES TO GON FREECSS. EXCELLENT

I love how much development the classmates are getting? What cute kids!

The scene in the diner where Nico's friend was doing impressions of Nico and Moi LOL

Nico saying how unreliable Moi is juxtaposed with him beating up those creepy guys fhdjd EXCELLENT

I love how sweet the class is!! They've embraced our little weirdos!

The whole flying sequence was so fun.

Ep 3

Man, the comedy is pretty good, hehe. I live Moi's love for vintage things!

There are so many references to Hunter x Hunter; I love it!

Moi is so dedicated but I find it odd that the adults are so certain that he'd do a great job of protecting Nico. Like... he hasn't seen her in ten years?He's also really sweet and attentive which is nice for this type of character

I love a bit of good old magical realism but I'm a bit iffy about the witch population settling in Japan due to persecution... like. Hmm. There's this implication that the rest of the world is somehow full of intolerant people and... yeah

Kan's design is so nice, hehe! Though I wonder what a tengu is in the context of this anime?

I love all of the main characters but Kazamatsuri Kanshi is my kind of dork lol

It's really nice that all the spells have some kind of drawback!

I'd like there to be a liiiittle more plot but I'm having fun so far!

ARGH. THEY ENDED THE EP WITH PLAYING DUEL MONSTERS? I SCREAM. I CRY.

It's so funny/embarrassing but I can relate to that teacher a little too much lol

The commentary on how sloppy Uron Mirage is as a manga was so funny; I feel like this mangaka had a fair few series in mind

It's nice to see Nico progressing!
