6/10 Albums that Influenced Me 4. Gold - Ryan Adams (2001) the beginning of a long and perfect love affair "Oh the night, here it comes again" 😭😭😭 5. Red Letter Days - the Wallflowers (2002) this album has EVERYTHING. Love songs. Songs about kids. Hate your enemies songs. Summer tunes. Upbeat yet melancholy laments about existence! 6. Sea Sew - Lisa Hannigan (2008) I found this gem late in the game after hearing her in the film Ondine. She blew me away. Like Damien Rice (who she sang with..) but so so much better. This album is so perfect, it maps the farthest reaches of my soul.

3/10 Albums That Influenced Me 1. Eden - Sarah Brightman (1998) every year I listen to this, it grows to mean so much more to me. She is timeless. 2. State of the Ark - The Ark (2004) "Let Me Down Gently": the first song I ever heard Ola Salo's sassy, incredible voice, and sweet Swedish glam rock. 3. Maybe Memories - The Used (2002) one of the best emo albums ever, Top 3 IMO. It was my first taste of delicious, dramatic angst.

I just want to say something to people struggling with mental illness.

There were numerous things that needed to get done today. I’m going somewhere tomorrow and haven’t done laundry in…a while. My room (still) looks like it was ransacked by the world’s dumbest burglar.

Instead, I sat on my bed rereading fanfiction for 6-8 hours straight, because my brain said I shouldn’t do one thing until I had done another thing, and without doing that second thing, the first thing never got done, so I read fanfiction instead. This is one of the million ways that mental illness (in the form of executive dysfunction) works. Sometimes things just don’t work, or you sleep for 15 hours a day, or you sleep for 15 hours a week, or you have to stop yourself from eating an entire pint of ice cream and then a box of cookies and some chocolate because it makes you feel temporarily kind of good.

It’s okay if you can’t write sometimes. It’s okay if you can’t write a lot. It’s okay if you sit down to write every day for a year, and every day your brain flinches and goes, no, nope, not doing that today. Sometimes stuff sucks. Sometimes days go badly. And some days you’ll be able to clean that entire section of your room, or write 100 words (or 1000, or 5000). Just don’t let your bad days get in the way of your good, and don’t forget that good days–or good mornings, or good evenings, or good hours–will come.

and i have even more Feelings about the way he collapsed at the final whistle in utter relief to the point where he was in tears and how he just lay there and let it sink in because he’s just done something that most people never thought he would and he wouldn’t be on that pitch if he hadn’t taken the decision to leave the security of the etihad

I have Feelings after he played at left back, out of position, for an entire season because we needed him there. After which, critics said he'd be rotation in the midfield. He's 32 years old and ran more than other player in that 2nd leg against City by a long stretch and has the most assists in a Champions League campaign.
