I was a course marshal for two stage of the Tour of the Gila. As a course marshal, my job is basically keeping vehicles off the course while the cyclists are racing. But, motorists have different ideas.

The main reason I should let them proceed into the course is because I just need to go right over there. And they point like I know where just over there is. Like distance makes a difference when a peloton is coming down the road.

What is not understood is that just because you cannot see the racing going on in front of your face, does not mean you don’t need to stay where the fuck you are.

We all dragged our asses to the rink.

We all spent hours freezing our asses off.

We all spent hours driving to a a 6 am start time.

The trial lawyers pay off Santa Fe to raise the malpractice awards to 6 million, per person, from 600K per case. The lawyers also keep New Mexico out of the interstate compacts, because they require binding arbitration, instead of litigation.
