anyway the pic explains the situation damn near perfectly. center, logan mcintyre, your local snob history professor who works at a college named after his own damn family. nobody hates him more than him, don’t worry. except maybe his ex-wife, though he gives her a good run for her money.

right, the ex-wife. honestly, i don’t have solid ideas on what their marriage or relationship looked like, would love to build that up with whoever ends up taking her! but, i can tell you about the downfall. logan, being an idiot, cheated on her a little over a year ago. she found out, obviously, and left him immediately. in my mind, things were rocky already (idk, logan desperately does not want children, maybe she did and they were butting heads on that?) or they were falling out of love, but his infidelity was definitely the catalyst for the divorce. everything about her is totally open! logan is 36, so i’d like her to be older than 26. other than that, everything is totally open. career, what she’s up to now, how much she hates logan, etc. i would just really love her to be around for awkward run ins and just generally to make logan feel terrible.

okay this is a request for miles’ musical partner and best friend! the two have known each other since at least high school, when they started writing music together. their musical chemistry is just like... off the damn charts. every time they perform, people who don’t know them are like “oh my god you two are literally the cutest couple ever. #hashtag relationship goals oh my god” and they have to backpedal immediately and be like “oh nononononononononono... we’re just friends.” because they’re just that. “just friends”. “just friends” who have been writing love songs about each other for the better part of a decade. “just friends” who look at each other like that. “just friends” who absolutely have no romantic feelings towards each other whatsoever. nope. not even a little bit. won’t even consider the possibility.

anyway we all know that’s fucking horseshit, most everyone around them knows that’s fucking horseshit, but they don’t! they’re still out there living their lives like they don’t already know that the love of their lives is right in front of them. self-sabotaging any good relationship that might come along, whether they know it or not. miles, for his part, has never been able to commit to a single person for more than like, two weeks. nothing ever feels right. he’s also a downright garbage can of a person, so he doesn’t care. which is probably why, even if he was aware that he was in love with his musical partner, he would never do anything to act on it because he would just fuck it up anyway. and what would he do without his best friend then?

i can promise: angst, sexual tension, drunken mistakes, and drama.
