hey kids
you know why I like redemption narratives? because a redemption narrative says: no matter how broken or wrong or bad or stupid or ridiculous or harmful or sad or terrible, you can atone.
there is still a road back. it might be rocky and steep, complicated and messy. walking it may take all your life. you may lose your foothold, slip and fall back into the abyss, but the wall is still there. the ascent is still there. hard is not the same as impossible.
you are never too far gone. you are never beyond saving.
redemption arcs > black-and-white thinking
Redemption does not mean: no matter how wrong or bad or harmful or terrible you are, if you suffer enough then everybody will/should forgive you and love you and accept you.
Redemption means: no matter how wrong or bad or harmful or terrible you are, you can stop being that. you can be better.
(and yes, the process of making yourself be better will be arduous and painful, but the pain is not the point; the pain is not punishment; the pain is not there to make you pitiable and therefore forgivable. the pain is incidental. any pity anyone feels for you is also incidental. the point is to stop being terrible.)
“Run, a small voice whispered. Run and run, and do not look back.[...] She couldn’t. If she were to run, it would be toward him and not away.”
Excuse me while I cry into my pillow.
Sarah basically confirmed Az and Nesta's friendship and I would just like to announce that I'm dead.
I'm alive, but I'm dead.

In Acomaf, when the golden Queen leaves the other book under her chair for Rhys and the rest to find it, when the book started to speak... it said:
Hello, lady of the night, princess of Decay. Hello, fanged beast and trembling fawn.
So am I correct to assume that the book was saying hello to the Archeron sisters and Rhysand?
Lady of the Night: Feyre
Princess of Decay: Nesta
Fanged Beast: Rhysand
Trembling fawn: Elain
We have seen multiple times how they sometimes get described in that sort.
Feyre as High Lady (or consort) of the Night Court.
Nesta as her powers might be Death.
Rhysand as he always commented how he hated the beast side of him.
Elain as the Suriel once described her in Acowar when Feyre asked Elain to look for him. “You sent the trembling fawn to find me”.
Or when Azriel gave Elain truth-teller, Feyre say the painting in her mind as “The lovely fawn, blooming spring vibrant behind her. Standing before Death”.
NESTA SEES THROUGH SOME OF THE SHIT IN AZRIEL
SHE AND AZ HAS A MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING SADKLASJFKLDKLSD
AND THEY ENJOY TEASING CASSIAN ASDKLJFSDKLJKDLKFLSDKLFDJSKLFJSDLKDSKL
Nesta never raises her voice and shouts. The only time she ever did was to shout for Cassian to save his life. Every other time she has been strong and feirce and put people in their place, completely in control. And I love her for that. You don't have to be raging and shouting to be strong and heard.
That being said...I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for her to scream and yell and loose her shit and for them to be floored.
ACSF LIVE: 15th of January
Here is all I got from it:
- Helion will make an appearance and he won't be naked (😂😂) but "wants to be"
- To the question "will we see pregnant Feyre in acsf?", Sarah answered "maybe"
- Eris is her favorite Autumn court Guy and she likes to write male characters like him. She also said it was fun writing a character that didn't necessarly liked the IC
- We will know what Lucien is up to in ACSF
- We will also know what was in the box and it doesn't seem to be a siphon. According to Sarah, Cassian spent month tracking it down and it's something Nesta would have loved.
- Azriel and Nesta have a mutual respect. They won't have a sister-brother relationship like Feyre and Cassian but Nesta understands parts of Azriel and they like to tease Cassian.
- According to Sarah, ACSF is smuttier than CC2 (because she didn't finish editing it yet but she hesitated a lot) and there's a lot of "fluids". She joked about BJs as well.
- Sarah spent some time discussing Tharion's...hmm...anatomy and wondering how everything works.
- To the question "can we read ACSF without reading the rest of the story?", Sarah answered that Nesta's story is entangled with the past. You can but it's interesting to know what Nesta's been through and seeing it both through feyre's perspective and Nesta's. It's important "to go back to the beginning".
- Sarah said she likes reading books with sad endings but not necessarly writing them.
- Sarah confirmed that Nesta would get her happy ending even though she would suffer first. She talked about how Nesta is in a very dark place at the beginning of the book and how proud she was of the woman she became. Writing her journey was very important for her and maybe the most important journey she ever wrote.
- She said that Nesta is aware of the bad things she did and that she didn't want her to be a nice character but to have hard edges, on the contrary.
- Sarah still refused to answer the question about Rhysand's last name. 😂

This book has been on my TBR shelf for so long and after seeing so many hyped up reviews from TikTok, I decided to dust it off and dive in. I am not intrigued.
I feel like the story was very bland. I am a pretty emotional reader and one of the most hyped up review I seen about this book was that it crushed their soul. After finishing the book, I felt relieved it was over. The way the author wrote just irked me. One minute it was normal then next, it was as if Lockhart wanted to make it into a poem. The constant switch up was just too much and made no sense to me.
Overall, I was very underwhelmed with this book. 2/5 stars. I’ll probably never reread this again.
