Telling what you really feel for a man doesn’t make you any less of a woman :)
Always remember that IF YOU DO NOT ASK, THE ANSWER WILL ALWAYS BE NO.
and IF YOU DO NOT GO AFTER WHAT YOU WANT, YOU WILL NEVER HAVE IT.
I was amazed by the courage of this girl to post and ask for everyone to share her status so that it can reach Russel.
Whether it’s admiration, crush, infatuation, or whatever it is.. I admire you and your courage. Thumbs up! :)
To my friends, friends of friends, and new-found supporters, Congratulations to us for reaching 253 shares and 152 likes in 5 days! These numbers are impressive considering the short amount of time the post needed before it caught on, the moratorium that has been declared yesterday, and the other shares still left unaccounted for from social media sites other than Facebook. While we may have failed at creating a national clamor for Mr. Escoto to give me a chance, the original intention to broadcast the message and make him aware of my existence exceeded prior expectations. I had 2 haters when we were starting out, and 3 more when we were almost viral.
This 5-day project is only one of the many examples that proves that collective voices and collective actions are heard, and are affecting. Certainly, our efforts are not in vain. May we remember the viral status of the open-letter beyond its 'kilig' value, it is, after all, the sum of many victories: from an empowering public assertion of feelings, to the great connectivity made possible by technological advancements, up to the ultimate success of being united to reach a goal. To end this, please accept my sincerest gratitude to all of you who made this possible. SALAMAT NG BONGGANG-BONGGA!! :) Geli *although, sayang talaga, hindi ako type ni Russel haha

It was one of those singular moments that is seared into a collective sensibility.

I wish I was pretty enough to get more than just a smile, or a subtle side glance, or the occasional look over the shoulder. I wish I was pretty enough to get someone to go out of his way to approach me, ask me out on a date, put up with my temper, and maybe eventually, even love me and stay with me.

I stopped dating for you. Because I was afraid I might date one of your friends and ruin my chances with you.

Going back again to Philjobnet, the vacancies that are mostly being offered for local employment are those of telemarketing in nature. You can check it out if you like. I understand PNoy did not solely base his information from this specific website, but him pointing this out clearly implies that his idea for local employment hugely begins and ends with providing facilities for call center agents. Not saying that being a call center agent is bad, but the educated public doesn't have to settle for caffeine-induced grave-shift hours. In this light we go back to my main point, sure, PNoy has his ideas regarding local employment; but we, the (soon to be) members of the labor force, are still going to cater to foreign demands, when in fact, the Filipino labor must not only be for everyone's personal gain but also for the whole nation's benefit. All these brought about by miseducation.
913p 25jul2011
One paragraph.
In this year's SONA, the agenda for Philippine education is condensed to a single paragraph. And to make matters worse, President Noynoy Aquino's statistics were based on a mere website. A website which promotes overseas employment.
Sure, I have nothing against overseas employment, my father is an OFW himself. But in this day and age of brain-drain, the least our nation needs is more people seeking employment abroad. And as if that wasn't painful enough, the president proposes a review of today's curriculum to satisfy a commercialized, colonial and fascist education.
Despite his constant calls for change, the current state of education in our country seems to be consciously overlooked, the president chose not to address this issue since he is very much caught-up in his personal fight against corruption and the previous administration. When truth of the matter is, corruption arise from miseducation.
Come to think of it in these terms, if the youth is educated in a nationalist, scientific, and mass-oriented approach, there would be no need to satisfy an imperialist job market-- whose main goal is to gain cheap manpower and raw materials-- since local employment will eventually arise from the educated public's initiative. Miseducated Filipinos will be history, corruption itself will be a thing of the past since the public has now learned how to be their own watchdog. Education will give the masses it's rightful voice. Education will alleviate poverty. Education means initiative. Education means progress.
To add insult to injury, the president chose to prioritize upgrading and modernizing military equipment than giving education its deserved piece of the pie. This constant participation in wars that most of the time are not even our own has led our country into a more pitiful state of poverty. Past administrations have put the military on top of the budget hierarchy, and this proved to be a horrible decision time and again. In spite of President Noy's insistence for social change, budget allocation is still a little bit too off.
All this hope for a better Philippines was compressed to a single paragraph. A single paragraph that not only empowered foreign demands, but also failed to mention any effective budget plans for public schools, state colleges and state universities.
So forgive me Mr. President, if I am being too bold in saying that your State of the Nation Address was not a cut above the rest as you had hoped. You have only managed to affirm your lack of knowledge and concern for the plight of the youth. The state of education and the youth that should be the hope of the nation, but you chose to ignore in favor of your rhetoric and metaphors.
